This year marks the 25th Anniversary of the Power Rangers franchise, and as part of a year-long celebration, many products have been released that throw things back to where it all began... the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers. The camp charm of the original series brought forth a host of memorable characters, but no villain has been more suited for the Halloween season than the big bad of the Power Rangers' 1994 "Trick or Treat" episode - the Pumpkin Rapper. While it was The Nightmare Before Christmas that really drove home the title of "Pumpkin King" for Jack Skellington, there's been many Jack-O-Lantern-headed creatures that have terrorizing (or amusing) the masses for years and the Pumpkin Rapper is one of the best! For 2018, Funko brought the character into the Pop! Vinyl range for an exclusive figure available Only at GameStop. I recently bought one at our local GameStop store, and it only seemed right that we took the Pumpkin Rapper with us to the pumpkin patch...

Back in February, just ahead of the 115th North American International Toy Fair, Hasbro revealed that they'd become the master licensee for Saban's Power Rangers. Buried in the announcement was something that many missed, but I did not - the potential for Hasbro to acquire the whole franchise. Now that's happened, and today Hasbro and Saban Properties LLC have announced that the companies have signed a definitive agreement for Hasbro to purchase Saban’s Power Rangers and several other entertainment brands, including My Pet Monster, Popples, Julius Jr., Luna Petunia, Treehouse Detectives and others, in a combination of cash and stock valued at $522 million.

Some breaking news as we head into the 115th North American Toy Fair in New York - Hasbro and Saban Brands have just announced that Hasbro has been named the global master toy licensee for Saban’s Power Rangers! Under the terms of the agreement and in collaboration with Saban Brands, Hasbro will design, produce and bring to market a wide variety of toys, games and role-play items inspired by the franchise and its entertainment properties. Hasbro will hold the worldwide rights, excluding Japan and certain other Asian markets, effective as of April 1, 2019.

Funko just continues to surprise, constantly rolling out new scales and series that you didn't expect to want or need. This week comes news that they've got an all-new line called HeroWorld, and that it's launching exclusively at Target and Target.com this month. These 4" vinyl figurines are available in five-packs and two-packs, and the initial wave features five distinct series' - DC Comics, Five Nights at Freddy's, Teen Titans GO!, Power Rangers and Scooby-Doo! Check out a preview below...

News just hit Rock Father HQ from Saban Brands that Power Rangers Super Ninja Steel will premiere on Saturday, Jan. 27, at 12 p.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon in the U.S. The 25th season of the series kicks of with the 886th episode to air, and the creators promise that the season will also feature a special anniversary episode that Power Rangers fans of all ages won’t want to miss. The Rock Father™ is a MEGA™Ambassador and Beyonder

When the Halloween season rolls around, families always start thinking about their costumes. In a lot of ways, the spirited season manages to unlock creativity that stays otherwise locked-up throughout the year. For many, there’s a hero just waiting to break out - but there’s no need to keep those characters bottled-up throughout the year! We often combine cosplay (what was called “dress-up” back in the day) with regular play, allowing our kids to inhabit their favorite characters as they engage in imaginative play and world-building here at home. With MEGA Construx™, families can build new worlds based around some of their favorite character from popular franchises like Despicable Me®, Halo®, Pokémon™® and Saban’s Power Rangers™… coincidentally, ones that have become staples of Halloween.
