Earlier today at Star Wars Celebration Orlando, fans were treated to the brand-new trailer for season four of Disney XD's Star Wars Rebels. As some had already been anticipating, the fourth season has been confirmed to be the final season - something that certainly saddens me, but hopefully means that the door will open for something else. As Star Wars Rebels keeps moving toward the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, we see the return of Saw Gerrera (Forest Whitaker) and the appearance of Rebel U-Wing Fighters, Imperial Death Troopers (recently glimpsed at the end of season 3) and more, as executive producer Dave Filoni delivered news of the show's must-see conclusion alongside the voice cast of the entire Ghost crew including Freddie Prinze Jr., Tiya Sircar, Taylor Gray, Vanessa Marshall and Steve Blum. Check out the trailer...

Being a massive fan of Star Wars, it's been a real privilege to have deepened my personal connection to it over the years, something that has been an unexpected benefit of running this website. I've been able to work on some projects spun from various licenses; had my own home movies used in Target's promotional commercials leading up to the release of The Force Awakens; and I was able to take part in the Global Media Event for that very film - the first-ever Star Wars film to be released under Disney's ownership of Lucasfilm. That said, there is one big connection that I do not have, and one that I've been asked about more times than I can remember - and it's gone back to the early 1990s. No, I am not related to Star Wars author Timothy Zahn, creator of Grand Admiral Thrawn. In fact, we'd never actually met until he made an appearance at Count-I-Con in Lake County, Illinois last year. To make it completely official, he signed a copy of his Heir to the Empire 20th Anniversary Edition hardcover to our entire family with "no relation" tacked on the end. So why bring this up now? At Star Wars Celebration Orlando, there was a whole lot of Grand Admiral Thrawn action happening, and you're going to be seeing a lot more of the blue-faced Imperial in the months ahead.

Star Wars 40th AnniversaryFrom an office far, far away from Star Wars Celebration Orlando, I'm still rockin' the pre-show updates remotely as thousands of Star Wars fans prepare to spend the next few days rubbing elbows with the folks who make the saga happen. Since it's Wednesday, that means a new episode of The Star Wars Show has hit the web, and they're pregaming, too. In fact, it's a much better pre-show than I could give you, as they've got the real scoop on what's coming up involving the Star Wars 40th Anniversary panel, The Last Jedi, Star Wars Rebels and much, much more. Check it out...

Disney XD's Star Wars Rebels just wrapped its third season, and with season four coming this fall, we haven't seen the last from the crew of the Ghost. The latest installment of Funko's Smuggler's Bounty Subscription box started arriving in mailboxes and on porches a few weeks back, and it's the perfect way to close out the season - perfectly-themed with Star Wars Rebels. Rather than just do a standard unboxing and review, this time we're mixing it up a bit... I put the camera and directorial duties in the hands of 7-year-old Adalyn, who helms the action as 4-year-old Finley does the honors in cracking the box and showing off the goods. The Rock Father™ has collaborated with Lucasfilm for the #RogueOneDigital launch.

With the release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, it was confirmed that cinematic audiences were more than ready to embrace Star Wars stories beyond the "Saga" lineage and ties to the Skywalker clan. Director Gareth Edwards brought to life a compelling film spawned from the opening crawl of 1977's Star Wars: A New Hope, presenting on the big screen for the first time a type of adventure that was previously only explored in ancillary storytelling like books and games. After revisiting Rogue One now that it's come home on Digital HD and Disney Movies Anywhere, I realized just how much the film has both captured and reignited my interest in the characters that live slightly to the side of our main heroes - an interest that directly relates to what I loved about the original trilogy growing up.

This Saturday, the crew of the Ghost have a new issue at hand when Chopper and AP-5 team up to infiltrate an Imperial station to steal needed codes. Thing is, an Imperial specialist turns the droids against the crew to cause chaos, and that's not good. Check out this preview of "Double Agent Droid," the next all-new episode of Star Wars Rebels, airing this SATURDAY, MARCH 11 (8:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney XD.
