I am notoriously "anti-football." After enjoying the sport as a child, I completely lost interest in high school, and as an adult have come to largely despise the game and much of the culture that surrounds it. That said, I still find myself able to enjoy some football-based entertainment (movies like Wildcats, Necessary Roughness, Any Given Sunday), and now I'm intrigued by a documentary series that I had no idea was coming - despite my association with the Netflix Stream Team. Coach Snoop follows legendary rapper Snoop Dogg as he ventures outside the studio and onto the field as he coaches a team of teenagers in the Snoop Youth Football League. The eight-episode season offers an intimate look at Snoop and the players as they chase a championship and deal with adversity off the field. Check out the trailer below...

After finally settling in on a new location, Chicago's RIOT FEST & CARNIVAL will take place in Douglas Park, September 11-13, 2015. Tonight comes the much-anticipated First Wave Lineup Announcement for this year's fest, which boasts some big surprises, and like year's past, features some bands performing seminal albums in their entirety. CALL OF DUTY: GHOSTSI'm way behind on my CALL OF DUTY playing. In fact, it's been a bit since I fired up the Xbox 360 (I still need an Xbox One) for some CALL OF DUTY: GHOSTS action, and I need to catch up on all the DLC goodies, like the new personalization and voice packs that hit the game today. Among them, a "1987 Customization Pack" (which is pretty neon), and the first-ever voice packs, which bring in SNOOP DOGG and R. LEE ERMEY to narrate the multiplayer action. Check out some sneak-previews, below...

125snoopI love a good rap cover. KORN's version of ICE CUBE's "Wicked," BEN FOLDS version of DR. DRE's "Bitches Ain't Shit," THROWDOWN's version of the SIR MIX-A-LOT classic "Baby Got Back," or DYNAMITE HACK's iconic version of EASY-E's "Boyz-n-the-Hood" all come immediately to mind (along with countless others). Now comes word into Rock Father HQ that Engine Room Recordings will pay tribute to Tha Doggfather himself, when DOGGYSTYLE RESTYLED: A TRIBUTE TO SNOOP DOGG is released on December 17. Check out GARRISON STARR (feat. PJ PACIFICO) doing an acoustic spin on "Gin and Juice" below...
