In the trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Poe Dameron mentions that The Resistance has "a spark that will light the fire that will burn The First Order down." But thematically, what if the players on the other side feel the same way? Back it up around 30 years, and you're in the timeline just following the events of 1983's Return of the Jedi, and that's right where EA's Star Wars: Battlefront II lies. To avenge the death of The Emperor, they follow his instructions to "ignite the inferno" - making reference to The Inferno Squad, in an effort to burn The Rebellion down. See the new single-player trailer for the game below, and look for it on November 14, 2017. Exclusive pre-order deals available via my affiliate, GameStop.
I've owned a lot of NERF blasters over the years, and right now we have an arsenal of decent size here at Rock Father HQ. Still, I can't think of a time when I've specifically looked at a NERF blaster and thought: "that is beautiful." That changed today, when my friends at Hasbro sent over details on their NERF Rival Star Wars Battlefront Apollo XV-700 Blaster and Face Mask Set. The special edition Mandalorian set will be available exclusively at Gamestop this spring, and comes decked-out in a full Boba Fett color scheme, ripped straight from EA's STAR WARS BATTLEFRONT!
After some early details leaked a few days ago, those attending EA has officially dropped the curtain on Star Wars Battlefront II, making the reveal at Star Wars Celebration Orlando. Personally, I just started playing the first Battlefront last month (late to the Xbox One party), but after seeing what's coming down the road, I can't wait to get my hands on Battlefront II. Not only does the game pack a ton of action from "all eras of Star Wars," but there's a new story to be told, with a new type of trooper at the center of it - the Inferno Squadron Pilot. Hasbro will release a Star Wars The Black Series Inferno Squadron Pilot as a Gamestop Exclusive along with the release of the game for Xbox One and Playstation 4. See details on everything below!
I clearly need two things: Time, and an Xbox One. As my lonely 360 longs for more playtime, I've been longing to get into some new STAR WARS games, something I've enjoyed on occasion from THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK on the Atari 2600 (80s), to the excellent SUPER STAR WARS series on SNES (90s) and well-through the prequel eras of Podracing, the first BATTLEFRONT and most recently, Disney Infinity. While I've not played EA's current BATTLEFRONT, it's on my "to-do" list, especially after seeing where STAR WARS games will be heading over the next few years. From more add-on DLC for BATTLEFRONT including DEATH STAR and BESPIN packs, to different types of gameplay on multiple platforms spanning multiple eras of STAR WARS storytelling, EA and partners including DICE, BioWare, Motive, Visceral Games, Capital Games and Respawn Entertainment are prepping many new adventures in a galaxy far, far away. Check out the E3 reveal video below...
This is one of those times where I get tempted by The Dark Side of The Force. A complete Xbox loyalist, I've held back on getting an Xbox One (but I almost need to at this point), yet here comes this beautiful beast - The PlayStation 4 Limited Edition STAR WARS Battlefront 500GB Bundle. Available on November 17th and up for pre-order now via GameStop, Amazon and Best Buy, it features a fully customized PlayStation 4 and DualShock 4 wireless controller inspired by Darth Vader, STAR WARS Battlefront, and a voucher containing four Star Wars Classics - Super Star Wars, Star Wars: Racer Revenge, Jedi Starfighter and Star Wars Bounty Hunter.
Fans attending the D23 Expo in Anaheim next month have a new reason to get excited: Disney Interactive is breaking out the big blasters... the kind from a galaxy far, far away, and also from the world of MARVEL. From August 14-16, guests can visit the Disney Interactive Pavilion on the show floor to experience hands-on demos with the much-anticipated Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition (along with some rockin' giveaways, check out Electronic Arts' STAR WARS BATTLEFRONT, Namco's STAR WARS: BATTLE POD (which is absolutely fantastic, and has cost me money) and the latest mobile apps. But that's not all, a Sunday panel will also drop the curtain on some new info from Square Enix pertaining to KINGDOM HEARTS III. Want to know more?
