I really need to get back into comics... not just reading them, but as a creator and writer. My personal foray into that realm was brief (as was the existence for the publisher I worked for), but the couple of books I did create have been made available on Amazon as Kindle Editions (they're FREE!) and oddly enough, they still hit the charts (DEATH WALKS THE STREETS #1 is currently number #13 in horror - tonight). I miss regular reads, and often times, catching up via Trade Paperback is the way to go (I still like to hold a real book), and tonight I spotted some upcoming releases that I'd like to highlight here on THE ROCK FATHER. Actually, I think we'll make this a regular feature.

I'm finally catching up on the MARVEL Cinematic Universe here at Rock Father HQ. Having missed their theatrical runs, I just watched CAPTAIN AMERICA and THE AVENGERS last week, and I still have to catch IRON MAN 3 and the first THOR film. Now comes an email into HQ this evening with news that THOR: THE DARK WORLD is already headed home, with a Digital HD release on February 4 followed by a February 25th bow on Blu-ray and DVD. Check out the new trailer and specs below, and get those pre-orders in!

Diamond Select Toys just informed The Rock Father that their MARVEL SELECTS IRON MAN will be arriving in-stores today. Based on the MARK VI armor seen in the AVENGERS, this new figure bears a striking likeness to star Robert Downey Jr. Am I the only person that hasn't seen the AVENGERS yet? With two little ones in the house now, my movie-watching time is pretty much gone.

Diamond Select hit me with a few updates this week, much of which are largely aimed at Dads like myself instead of the toy-playing kiddies. First up is a pair of new items from the STAR WARS saga...

The crew over at Diamond Select Toys sent a quick update to inform the masses that their movie-themed wave of MARVEL MINIMATES has begun hitting TOYS R US stores. While THE AVENGERS doesn't hit U.S. screens for a few more days, you can certainly track down a ton of cool merch for kids of all ages. Here's what they say about the Minimates.
