As a big kid that plays with a lot of toys, I tend to see a lot of radio controlled vehicles here in The Toy Testing Facility at Rock Father HQ™. For the most part, it's always the cars and trucks that score the biggest points, with the more unique ones (motorcycles, for example) tending not to live up to expectations, or coming with a learning curve so big that kids lose interest. Sure, they look cool, but I've seen so many R/C vehicles fail to perform as advertised that when the prospect of an R/C skateboard came up, even my wife scoffed at the notion. Now, I'm here to tell you that when it comes to the new XPV Xtreme Performance Skateboard from JAKKS Pacific, there's finally a unique R/C ride that not only works as-promised, but completely blows the expectations right out of the water. Simply put: this thing is badass!

At Sweet Suite '17, otherwise known as "The Biggest Night of Play," I had the opportunity to host a segment on The Toy Insider's live stream - straight from Chelsea Piers in New York City. The task at hand? Unboxing a few of the newest toys from K'NEX. Expected to be among 2017's hottest holiday toys, I took a live look at the Budding Builders Tub from Kid K'NEX, along with the Power & Play Motorized Building Set, and the all-new Web Weaver Roller Coaster Building Set from the K'NEX Thrill Rides Collection. Captured during the livestream, the full video can now be viewed below!

I'm currently typing this from a hotel room in Manhattan, as I'm in New York City with The Toy Insider for the industry's "biggest night of play" - Sweet Suite 2017! As toymakers prep to unveil some of 2017's hottest holiday toys, things are already shaping up to be a little bit different this time around, and one big addition to the festivities is a live stream studio. I'll be hopping in front of the camera for a special Sweet Suite Live Broadcast in which I'll be unboxing some new toys from K'NEX, and the action begins at 5:10pm ET on July 12, 2017. To see the livestream, simply visit The Rock Father™ on YouTube or Facebook!

The Toy InsiderIt's time for another great Twitter Party with The Toy Insider, and I'll be there as a Panelist during the #MyLilButter Twitter Party, sponsored by Snaptoys, on Thursday, May 25 from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. EST. We'll be talking toys for a full hour full of fun, trivia, and giveaways, all in celebration of Lil' Butters - a new collection of 4" "Social Butterflies" - awesome collectible figures, each with a unique personality and look. I'll have a review up here on The Rock Father Magazine shortly, but in the meantime, check out what Marissa at The Toy Insider had to say about Lil' Butters Series 1 and Series 2, and be sure to RSVP and join us this Thursday!

My girls keep telling me that I "have a big belly like Daddy Pig," so I'm very aware of the world of Peppa Pig. I can dig it, and I'm a big fan of some of the supporting characters like Mr. Potato. Indeed, Peppa is among the icons here at Rock Father HQ, and our family has enjoyed the show, the toys, the clothing, and even a visit to Peppa Pig Live! With that in mind, I think I can claim to be well-versed in all-things-Peppa, and that's why I'm inviting you to join eOne and The Toy Insider this Friday, March 31 at 11am ET for the #AroundtheWorldPeppa Twitter Party. You have to RSVP to be eligible for prizes, and we've got some fun ones in the mix!
