Regardless of which side of the aisle you're on, election years always bring some interesting collectibles, and the 2016 Presidential race is no exception. We've all seen the often-mocking versions of Hilary Clinton and Donald Trump, but Ty Warner, Founder and Chairman of Illinois-based Ty Inc. (Beanie Babies and all) has simplified the whole thing with a pair of two limited-edition Political "Teeny Tys" this fall...

VTech's Go! Go! Smart Line gets Bigger...

From the "Why didn't these exist when our kids were younger?" department at Rock Father HQ...

Last week at Sweet Suite in New York City, the team from VTech were there in force, showing off a variety of their new toys for the 2016 Holiday season and beyond. For kids ages 1-5½, the Go! Go! Smart collection is expanding with the release of several new items from the award-winning Go! Go! Smart Friends®Go! Go! Smart Wheels® and Go! Go! Smart Animals® product lines, featuring innovative MagicPoint® and SmartPoint® technologies that "bring the toys to life" while teaching first words, letters and more as children explore cause and effect relationships. The Go! Go! Smart Friends line has evolved with an enchanting new theme around princesses and kingdoms, and offers a luxurious palace that expands to four feet wide. Go! Go! Smart Wheels features its first motorized train that can climb hills on its own and, for the first time, Go! Go! Smart Animals includes domestic animals and a sprawling three story pet playland.

It's extremely short notice, but for those of you in New York City, you need to be on the lookout for something awesome today (4/28/16)... the Hasbro Heroes Bus! To get ready for the release of MARVEL's CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR (in theaters May 6) Hasbro is hitting the streets of NYC and inviting fans to visit the #Hasbro Heroes Bus. There's fun #TeamCap and #TeamIronMan photo opps, and you can climb on board to play with the latest Marvel toys and games from Hasbro, and leave with tons of awesome, branded swag. Check out the schedule below, and know that THE ROCK FATHER will be with you in spirit...

Entertainment EarthOn April 1, 1996, Entertainment Earth launched with a small office, a garage, and a website. The idea back then was to give collectors a one-stop shop for what was then a new thing - Hasbro's Kenner STAR WARS Power of The Force action figures. That's exactly when I jumped into STAR WARS collecting hardcore. The weird thing now is that in 1996, RETURN OF THE JEDI was just 13 years old, and the "vintage" STAR WARS figures had only been off the market for about 11. To think that we're now 20 years past that relaunch of STAR WARS, and 33 years past ROTJ... well, it just makes me feel old. But, as times have changed, Entertainment Earth has grown to a massive operation, and while they're still a great source for toys from STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS, they're now keyed-into just about any kind of toys and collectibles that any entertainment or pop culture lover could want. Check out the cool history video they've put together...

Building a LEGO Adventure... on Netflix

Netflix #StreamTeamWith the success of The LEGO Movie and the massive response to not one, but two trailers for The LEGO Batman Movie just last week, it should be crystal clear that families want more cinematic LEGO adventures to compliment their hands-on play, whether it be building sets, or those sweet LEGO video games. This month delivered two new Netflix Original Series' that can help quench that thirst for brick-tastic entertainment, with LEGO Bionicle: The Journey of One and LEGO Friends: The Power of Friendship both streaming their first, four-episode seasons in their entirety on Netflix. How did The Rock Daughters and I kick things off? By building some LEGO sets to mirror the on-screen adventures...

This Friday, March 4, is the third annual ACTION FIGURE WORK DAY. Now, you might hear it called "Bring Your Action Figure to Work Day" or "Take Your Action Figure to Work Day," but it's all the same thing, and what's important is that you do, indeed, take or bring an action figure to work. In addition to spreading the joy of toys and collectibles, you should take a picture of your figure in it's new working environment, and then tag said picture on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, Pinterest) with both tags: #AFWDatEE and #AFWD2016. See for me, I take action figures to work every day, but for you... well, this is an opportunity to win some cool prizes that my friends at Entertainment Earth will be dishing out at random. Prizes like the EE-Exclusive GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Comic Edition MARVEL Legends Action Figure Set by Hasbro - a $119.99 value.
