First Trailer: Fox's ASSASSIN'S CREED

Despite writing about the series and some of its offshoots (from MEGA Bloks to prop replicas) from time to time, I have never played one of Ubisoft's ASSASSIN's CREED games. That may have to change soon as the long-awaited first trailer for 20th Century Fox's big-screen adaptation has  arrived, and my interest is beyond piqued - right down to the  Kanye West soundtrack. Check it out below and let me know what you think...

While the movie isn't out until Christmas, fans have been eager for some looks at anything from the big-screen ASSASSIN'S CREED adventure that 20th Century Fox will bring to theaters. Aside from a few official stills that were released back in January, news has been scarce, sans rumblings that the expected sequel is already in-development. As the trailer release looms at some point in the near future, beginning today, March 9th, KERNEL is affording Assassin’s Creed fans the opportunity to immerse themselves in the highly anticipated movie release with exclusive film merchandise, one-of-a-kind experiences, revealing behind-the-scene sneak peeks and more. Passionate fans of the franchise can now get a first-look of key elements from the film, including the hoodie and gauntlet worn by Callum Lynch/Aguilar (played by Michael Fassbender), limited-edition collectibles, apparel and accessories, the film script, advanced movie tickets, tickets to San Diego Comic Con and more, put together in packages ranging from $15-$1200. As news breaks this morning, THE ROCK FATHER Magazine has an early look at many of these items below...

I really need an Xbox One. With all the great games coming out and the shift finally moving into "current-gen-only," it's pretty much definitive at this point - though I will say that Darth Vader Edition PS4 looks pretty sweet. But Xbox is familiar territory for me, and games like this one - TOY SOLDIERS: WAR CHEST HALL OF FAME EDITION make me want the upgrade. Ubisoft managed to take their TOY SOLDIERS game, drop in the Brotherhood of Assassins from ASSASSIN'S CREED, and somehow bring HE-MAN & THE MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE and G.I. JOE into the mix. That's right - Mattel vs. Hasbro - just like real life!

Ready for something really cool? Just in-time for the Holidays (Rabbids are a great gift idea), we're giving readers a chance to win BIG with one (1) lucky family scoring a $500 Toy Store Shopping Spree + a copy of the Rabbids #1: Bwaaaaaaaaaah! On May 27th, Ubisoft will unleash WATCH DOGS, the most pre-ordered new game in their history, and the most pre-ordered new IP in the entire gaming industry this far for 2014. While I haven't played it yet, WATCH DOGS (Pre-Order: Amazon | Gamestop) is a game that holds special interest for me - it's setting being Chicago, the general home base for all Rock Father Operations. This open-world adventure looks fantastic, and offers gameplay on a level that I don't believe has been seen before - where the multiplayer world can hack into your single player game, and everyone and everything is connected. Check out a couple of looks at the game below, along with all the details on the recently-announced partnerships for exclusive, real-world WATCH DOGS goods...

McFarlane Toys has certainly released a ton of stuff that I've dug over the years, and while their more "grownup" action figures have always caught my eye, they've also done some toys for the kids, and the latest is pretty appropriate for Easter - characters based on Nickelodeon's RABBIDS INVASION (itself based on the Ubisoft game). Just in-time to infiltrate Easter baskets, Rabbids toys just hit Walmart and Toys "R" Us Stores Nationwide. Here's what's out there right now...
