SKYLANDERS have really become a big thing in recent months, something that kind of flew under my radar despite my review of the game last December. In fact, I know that some of my fellow Dad Bloggers (like Jeff Bogle over at Out With The Kids) are pretty into it. Well, I may have to delve back into that world as Robert Welkner from Coin-Op TV just sent me an email with a link to the video that you're about to watch: The Best Skylanders Cakes. Yes, with how big the Skylanders are getting, the characters have become a popular theme for Birthday Parties and Special Occasions, and Rob has scoured the internet to find some of the best designs. Take a look.
I still have my original copy of ANDREW W.K.'s landmark album, I GET WET, so it's hard to believe that it's been a decade since it was first released. To think of how much has happened in that time is astounding, but alas, time has flown. On August 28, Century Media will release the 10th Anniversary Edition of that album on Deluxe CD and Double-Gatefold Vinyl, and today I've got the tracklisting and package art to share with you here on The Rock Father...
Family Game Night is certainly something that I support here at The Rock Father, and as such, I'm always interested in checking out the latest in what Hasbro Games has to offer. One of their latest releases for the 3 and up set is the ELEFUN SNACKIN' SAFARI from their ELEFUN & FRIENDS line. While we haven't gotten a chance to give this a play-test ourselves (a review is forthcoming), Hasbro Games and The Rock Father are going to hook one lucky reader up with an ELEFUN SNACKIN' SAFARI to enjoy with their own family. Enter for your chance using the Rafflecopter Widget below...
Having covered THE DIRTY HEADS at length on the last site I worked for, I've long-respected the band while not necessarily getting into them. Despite loving surf rock, I'm not a big 'beach' guy, and that's probably what kept them at a distance. I tend to skip the Jimmy Buffett and leave the Sublime with Rome to someone else. With the release of THE DIRTY HEADS' latest album, CABIN BY THE SEA (out now in standard and deluxe editions), something hit me and became very clear: their sun-drenched, beach-infused vibes are irresistible.
I've been procrastinating on writing my review, but the recently-released DANKO JONES DVD, BRING ON THE MOUNTAIN absolutely rules. Is that my review right there? Maybe, maybe not, but it's a rockumentary well-worth checking out. Now comes news that DANKO JONES will release their new album, ROCK AND ROLL IS BLACK AND BLUE on October 9, 2012. If it's anything like their last album, chances are this one will rock hard and rule all as well...
