It's the next-to-last week for regularly-scheduled DLC on the ROCK BAND platform as Harmonix wraps things up after more than five years of weekly rock. For those of you still rocking the plastic instruments, CHEVELLE makes their ROCK BAND debut with a trio of tracks. Interestingly enough, these guys hail from a location very close to Rock Father HQ (they even played a local show in Arlington Heights at H.O.M.E. tonight), and back when their album WONDER WHAT'S NEXT came out in 2002, I personally sold a bunch of copies to their families at the Sam Goody store I used to run. Good memories from a time when the music business was still a business fun.

Earlier this year, Toy Vault launched a Kickstarter Campaign for a cause very near and dear to my heart: Properly educating children about the care of giant, city-stomping lizards. The campaign was a success, and with that, the release of MY FIRST GODZILLA has been announced. Soon the "Ages 3 and up" crowd will have a cuddly 'Zilla to call their own...

Holy Action Figure Awesome, Batman! After previously-covering the offerings from NECA and the world of BARBIE based on the classic 1966 BATMAN television series (which until recently was unavailable for licensing), now comes what is undoubtedly the most-anticipated '66-based line of the bunch: The BATMAN CLASSICS 1966 TV Series Action Figures from MATTEL. The folks at Entertainment Earth just hit The Rock Father with full details on the first waves of these 6-inch pieces of cool, all of which are now up for pre-order. Check out the details below and pay close attention to detail...

Baby's DreamI have a theory that all babies are born evil. If you know me well, there's a chance that you've already heard it. If not, I've probably mentioned it in passing, and will likely do so again. As much as I love babies, the Cliff's Notes version would be that babies are a pretty violent and sinister bunch. They hit, they kick, they scream and they sometimes go all EXORCIST on you by spraying you with questionable fluids. Yes, babies are born evil, and we have to teach them to be nice. For those that agree with me, it appears that the folks at T-Shirt Hell are celebrating my theory with the release of their "Baby Dreams" T-Shirt. Sweet dreams are made of Global Thermonuclear War...

Seattle rockers, THE NOT-ITS! are the band behind the recently-released album, KidQuake! - a record that currently holds the title for "The Rock Father's favorite Kids & Family release of 2013." Will it hold through the end of the year? Time will have to tell on that one, but today comes the release of the second video from the album (see the "Busy" first one, here) with "Let's Skateboard.

As promised last week, the folks at CollegeHumor have sent over the first installment of their three-part webseries event, DORA THE EXPLORER AND THE DESTINY MEDALLION. Starring Ariel Winter (MODERN FAMILY, voice of "Sofia" on Disney Junior's SOFIA THE FIRST) as the titular "Dora," with Adrian Gonzalez (who I'm sure was great as "Seedy Guy" in an episode of 90210 last year) as "Diego," the new clip can be seen below, right here on The Rock Father. Be warned... it's not family-friendly.
