It's been a very long time since I did a "Toddler Jukebox" column here on The Rock Father, but now the time has come to dust it off as a regular feature. When I did the first couple, I had an actual toddler in the house, but with Addie now a preschooler and Finn still an infant, I'm questioning the use of "toddler" in the name. The original concept was that Addie would grab a CD from the archives here at Rock Father HQ and I'd be forced to listen to it as an opportunity to revisit some songs from days long since passed. While I might still have the kids pull random selections on occasion, I'm looking at this as a way to revisit the past through my little ones - some pre-Fatherhood rock explored with a new generation. What better way to start then with an album called AGES 3 AND UP?
Good news for the residents of Enchancia - Disney Junior has ordered a second season of their hit series, SOFIA THE FIRST. With the first season having made it's debut just two months ago, SOFIA's popularity was practically instantaneous, as the series now tops the charts for Kids 2-5, Girls 2-5, and Boys 2-5. It's also a big hit here at Rock Father HQ, with the DVR set to record new episodes each Friday.
The floodgates are really open for merchandise based on the classic, 1966 BATMAN television series now that the rights have been released and assigned to licensors. NECA has a nice piece coming out soon, and the assortment of action figures coming to MattyCollector looks phenomenal. Now comes the BARBIE COLLECTOR DOLLS for BATMAN and CATWOMAN. Both went up for pre-order today at Entertainment Earth, and full details can be found below.
AC/DC is the World’s Perfect Rock Band. It’s a scientifically-proven fact, and if you don’t believe me… well, I bet that there’s a study out there somewhere that can back that up.
Whether scientific or subjective, I do believe that there is not, nor will there ever be a hard rock band with as much “right” as AC/DC.
My daughter seems to agree.
What if THE BEATLES would've altered course to create an album called "DADDY ROAD?" What if Dave Grohl had opted not for his band to be the FOO FIGHTERS, but the more fecal-focused POO FIGHTERS? These are questions explored over at Dad On the Run's blog this week as he reworks some classic album covers into baby-inspired versions.
