Midas is giving its service bays a new look.
The auto-care chain is rolling out two national store design concepts — Contemporary Industrial and Urban Modern — across its network of more than 1,200 locations in the U.S. and Canada. The updated designs apply to all new builds and renovations beginning this week, marking a major step in the five-year growth plan Midas launched in 2023.

The move also follows the one-year anniversary of Midas joining Mavis Tire Express Services Corp.
“Driven by customer and franchisee insights, the new store designs are the next step in the company’s national brand evolution and honors our 70-year legacy as one of the leaders in the auto care industry,” says Lenny Valentino Jr., President and COO of Midas International. “These designs offer better bay visibility, larger waiting areas, cleaner flow — all intentional features built around how people experience a Midas store.”

The two concepts serve different markets. Contemporary Industrial targets high-traffic suburban and highway-adjacent locations with bold signage and a functional layout. Urban Modern takes aim at denser, walkable markets with larger storefront windows, warmer accents, and a retail-inspired interior.
Both formats include a six-bay layout with a dedicated Advanced Driver-Assistance System bay, along with refreshed showrooms, larger waiting areas, improved service visibility, and updated signage built around the familiar Midas name.
The first Contemporary Industrial location is expected to open early next year in Irmo, South Carolina, through franchisee Gus Herlong and Palmetto Garage Works.
The store refresh follows Midas’ 70th anniversary campaign, “Midas is The Best,” starring Karate Kid star and ’80s icon William Zabka as a master technician. From the commercial spots to the shop floor, Midas is reshaping how drivers see the brand before they ever pull into the bay.
