SIMPLE PLAN launched the next round of its 25th-anniversary celebration Friday night, but BOWLING FOR SOUP may have won the weekend.
The “Bigger Than You Think! Tour — The Sequel!” opened July 24 at The Pearl in Las Vegas with SIMPLE PLAN joined by BOWLING FOR SOUP and 3OH!3. The stacked pop-punk package picked up where its successful 2025 run left off, bringing three generations of alt-radio hooks, party anthems, and sing-along fuel back to the road.
Then Saturday got a little ridiculous.
All three bands played Vans Warped Tour in Long Beach, with BOWLING FOR SOUP hopping a private jet to San Diego, where the band performed at Thrilljoy’s Rock the Block during San Diego Comic-Con that same night.
By Sunday, the group had rejoined SIMPLE PLAN and 3OH!3 for the tour’s stop at Harrah’s Resort Southern California in Valley Center.
That schedule turned the opening weekend into a three-show, three-city sprint across Southern California and Las Vegas.
The tour also arrived with new music in tow. 3OH!3 released “My Friends” on Friday, adding another summer-ready anthem to a catalog built on loud hooks and controlled chaos.
Earlier this year, BOWLING FOR SOUP covered SIMPLE PLAN’s “I’m Just a Kid,” putting its own celebratory spin on an emo-era staple. The track underscored the shared history between bands that have spent decades playing to overlapping crowds without losing the sense of humor that helped make them stick.
BOWLING FOR SOUP and 3OH!3 will appear throughout the tour, with MARIANAS TRENCH joining the Aug. 20 finale in Toronto.
SIMPLE PLAN will donate $1 from every ticket sold to the Simple Plan Foundation, which has contributed more than $3 million to organizations supporting young people since 2005.
The sequel runs through Aug. 20, but its opening weekend already delivered a story worthy of the name: bigger, faster, and far more complicated than anyone probably expected.
