Do you hear the sleigh bells jingling? You might not want to admit it, but Christmas is just over three months away, and as the official launch of my 2016 Holiday Wish Guide approaches, my annual list of Holiday Music & Movies is open for business here at THE ROCK FATHER Magazine! My hand-picked list of each year's best new releases and reissues will be updated weekly throughout the season, and one of today's additions is an expanded version of last year's MY LITTLE PONY: FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC Holiday Album - A PONY KIND OF CHRISTMAS.

I'm not entirely sure where she'd even seen it, but last year, our oldest daughter, Addie, only had one wish for Santa: The Original Miracle Melting Snowman. It's actually pretty charming that for a girl that "has everything," she always ends up asking Santa for some relatively simple things come Christmastime. Now, it actually took me a little bit to figure out what she meant by "I want a melting snowman," but as always, Mr. Claus delivered - a 3" snowman that can "melt" before your very eyes. With my 2016 Holiday Wish Guide™ taking shape and soon to launch, I'm presenting the Melting Snowman as an early entry that's Rock Father-approved as a perfect stocking stuffer. Check out the hands-on time-lapse video below, straight from the Toy Testing Facility at Rock Father HQ!

Red Band Trailer: BAD SANTA 2

Written by

I think this just might mark two years in a row that I've officially kicked-off the Holiday coverage here on THE ROCK FATHER Magazine with a trailer for a film that is anything but "family-friendly." I'm a massive fan of the Holiday season, hence why I go heavy into coverage of Holiday Music & Movies each and every year here on the site, and as always - I'll be giving you a look at entertainment for the entire family - kids and grownups alike. This one though? NSFW as they say, the red-band trailer for the long-awaited BAD SANTA 2, a sequel 13 years in the making. Watch this, but not with the kids around... trust me on that!

THE PEANUTS MOVIE (reviewed here) was one of our favorite movies of this past year, and after an early release on DigitalHD, it's coming home on Blu-ray and DVD on March 8th. With Easter fast-approaching, I can't help thinking that THE PEANUTS MOVIE would make a great Easter Basket Filler, and with that in mind, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment and THE ROCK FATHER Magazine are giving readers a shot at winning the Walmart-Exclusive Limited-Edition Gift Set. The special bundle includes THE PEANUTS MOVIE on Blu-ray Combo Pack, alongside a Snoopy Plush Toy!

The 2016 "Happy Easter" Hot Wheels Giveaway!

Written by

Hot Wheels LogoOver the past few years, we've developed quite a few Holiday traditions that happen to involve Mattel's HOT WHEELS. You might not automatically make the Holiday connection with Hot Wheels outside of being a coveted gift each December since 1968, but for many years the Hot Wheels team has been developing and producing seasonally-themed vehicles that often show up as retailer exclusives a few times each year. When Spring rolls around, the Easter Bunny has a habit of dropping a few "Happy Easter" Hot Wheels into The Rock Daughters' baskets, and this year is no exception, with the release of the 2016 Happy Easter Hot Wheels collection, available egg-sclusively at Walmart.  There's six cars in all, with spring-themed, pastel versions of 16 Angels, Blvd. Bruiser, Circle Trucker, Furiosity, Monster Dairy Delivery and the Torque Twister all included. I've got a set right here, and one (1) lucky reader of THE ROCK FATHER Magazine will be able to put it in their own Easter Basket!

Yesterday, as Santa Claus,  Rudolph and the other eight reindeer prepared to make their annual flight around the Globe, GREEN DAY added a fresh new song to their 2015 Holiday Music Playlist. Stream "Xmas Time of Year" below, and Merry Christmas to all of you from all of us here at Rock Father HQ!

With just two shopping days left until Christmas 2015, time is running out to find the perfect gift, but there's a one-stop shop that probably has a location right near you! I've been a Gold Crown Card-carrying fan of Hallmark for much of my adult life - my appreciation for Hallmark fueled by my mom, who started us on Keepsake Ornaments practically at birth. I've had several Hallmark items featured in my annual Holiday Wish Guide all season, but while I was traveling on some recent adventures, I returned home to a care package from my Hallmark friends in Kansas City - and that inspired this post. What was included was some right-in-the-money picks for our family, and a solid reminder that Hallmark has something for everyone. From thoughtful gifts, to the cards and wrap to present them in-style, they've got everything. I even did quite a bit of shopping there this season, but I can't show you what I bought... prying eyes on this site, if you catch my drift.

Watch: THE BRIAN SETZER ORCHESTRA Performs on CONAN...

Written by

Last night, THE BRIAN SETZER ORCHESTRA took a break from their 12th Annual Christmas Rocks! Tour to stop in and do a few songs on CONAN. The band performed "Here Comes Santa Claus" and "Yabba-Dabba Yuletide," along with a special version of the DICK VAN DYKE SHOW Theme Song in honor of Dick's appearance with Conan O'Brien as well. Check out some video below, and look for The BSO to hit a town near you. You can read my review of their recent stop in Waukegan,  Illinois right here. Their latest Holiday album, ROCKIN' RUDOLPH is out now on Surfdog Records.

Craftsman CrewTHE ROCK FATHER has partnered with Sears as a paid member of the Craftsman Crew.

When it comes to making, building, and creating with high-quality craftsmanship, few know the drill more than the big man in red - Santa Claus. If you've never had a chance to visit Santa's workshop in the North Pole, let me tell you that you're missing out. Sure, you might know Santa and his Elves for all the toys and games that they spend the first 11 months of each year creating, but the work that goes into keeping Santa's Sleigh running at top-speed is done in Speed Shop that rivals some of the best hot rod builders in the world - and Santa's ride is a 9 RP (that's Reindeerpower) force of gift delivering fury! The Elves know that Craftsman Tools power their workshop, and with that in mind you could give a gift that rocks for the budding maker on your list - whether they're young, old. naughty, nice, nice & naughty, or just getting started. Craftsman has a Holiday Gift Finder that can help you find just what's right, and as part of The Craftsman Crew, I'm sharing THE ROCK FATHER's Top Craftsman Gift Picks to highlight some of the best and brightest, alongside some sweet products - not just tools - that I bet you didn't even know that Craftsman had. Ho! Ho! Ho!

PEANUTS Brand AmbassadorAs a Peanuts Worldwide Brand Ambassador, I occasionally get offered some pretty cool products that feature Snoopy and the whole PEANUTS gang. For the Holiday Season, one thing I was offered was one of the new PEANUTS Bouquets from the folks at Teleflora - but I rather than send it here, I had it sent to my mom (currently in the hospital) in an effort to #SendCheer there, until we're able to visit in-person later this month. As many of you know,  I do love to spread the holiday cheer, and with that in mind, the folks at Teleflora are letting me gift another beautiful PEANUTS Bouquet to one of you!

The Force is Strong with Entertainment Earth as we move toward the December 18 release of J.J. Abrams' STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS. Those seeking the perfect STAR WARS-themed gift can find many ideas in our 2015 Holiday Wish Guide here on THE ROCK FATHER Magazine, but now Entertainment Earth has bundled some of their exclusive items into some gift packages so desirable, even The First Order would be envious. Check out a trio of Entertainment Earth Exclusive STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS bundles - available for a limited time, or while supplies last! Which will you choose - The Ultimate, Action or Awesome bundle?

Since Isaiah Mustafa first graced television screens draped in a towel and delivering that now-iconic "Hello Ladies" back in 2010, I've been obsessed with his series of Old Spice commercials. Hundreds of millions of views (and parodies by MARVEL and SESAME STREET) later, I'm hardly alone - they're fantastic - so as a half-decade has since passed, I've looked forward to new commercials featuring Mustafa... and his nemesis, Terry Crews. As part of my own sometimes-bizarre life of adventure and things that are increasingly hard to explain at family gatherings, I was excited when Old Spice and Life of Dad asked me to partner with them to make a #Smellmitment to the brand. Sadly, they were not seeking to pit The Rock Father's mighty "keg" against the "six-pack" abs of Mustafa and Crews, but what they did get is something that few would've expected - that it would be one of The Rock Daughters™ that just might prove to be the undoing of both myself and the smooth-talking, horse-riding Isaiah. Timber, Swagger and Bearglove can help a gentleman improve their mansmells, with the choice being an important one - different scents for different gents.
