If you're an avid viewer of ABC's Shark Tank, you may recall an episode from a few years back when Shark Robert Herjavec, Founder & CEO of Herjavec Group made a deal with a little company called Happy Feet. The maker of plush character slippers had been around since the late 90s, but it was that 2014 deal that really took things in a new direction. Now, a new collaboration between Happy Feet and Disney has been revealed, with Happy Feet set to produce a robust line of plush slippers and proprietary footwear for Disney and Disney•Pixar brands, which includes Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Nightmare Before Christmas, Winnie the Pooh, Disney Princess, Frozen, Toy Story 4, and many more. This new lineup of over 30 hand-crafted styles joins previous collaborations including a Marvel line. The 50th Anniversary Celebration of Mattel's iconic Hot Wheels collection continues, and today comes news that Knockaround and Hot Wheels have teamed-up for some limited edition sunglasses. Yes, I just bought a pair. I've been a fan of Knockaround's Fort Knocks shades for awhile, particularly some of their limited edition collaborations, so this is right in my wheelhouse. The Rodger Dodger Fort Knocks feature a nitrous blue frame with a hot-rod red interior on the front, and classic speedster flames running down both arms. Reminiscent of the blown engine popping out of the hood, they sport polarized silver chrome lenses that provide full UV400 sun protection. One of the coolest features? The promotional activities for Lucasfilm's Solo: A Star Wars Story is now in full-effect, and that means quite a few new posters. I've enjoyed the western vibe of the U.S. posters, but now there's one out of the UK that is hands-down my absolute favorite. It's vibrant and I did it - plus Lando's bright yellow outfit really pops (see it below). Speaking of Calrissian, if you're like me, you've probably always enjoyed the idea of wearing a short cape like he does. Now, thanks to ThinkGeek (an affiliate of this site), you can have your own Lando Cape, and this slice of intergalactic fashion will only set you back around $70. Now, perhaps you want something a little less flashy - something more subdued that flips the switch between smuggler and scoundrel. In that case, you can pick up a Han Solo jacket very similar to the one worn by Alden Ehrenreich in the new film. Check 'em out...
One of our favorite product lines is getting bigger. As my closet (and wife) can attest to, I'm always on the lookout for interesting pop culture t-shirts, particularly those of the mash-up variety. Last night, one came across that's been out for awhile, but it's new to me, particularly since I've recently become a fan of Hamilton: An American Musical. My wife has been a massive fan for a few years now, but I didn't catch the bug until I we won the Hamilton ticket lottery and scored a pair of second-row seats for just $20(!) to see the show in Chicago last month.
