This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Weave Made Media®  & Remington  but all my opinions are my own. #weavemade #RemBeardBoss  http://my-disclosur.es/RgFrEH

Over the years, one thing that I've become known for in certain circles is facial hair. There's a spot on my chin that just never seems to be shaved, and if asked to describe it, I'd generally note that it's an 8½-inch goatee. Many people have called it a "beard," and that's valid as well - but it is something that's taken on a life of it's own. Personally, I think it should be longer - and at times, I've asked my wife if she secretly trims its length while I'm sleeping. As most who've seen it up close can attest to, its length and girth is decent (perhaps even impressive to some), but it's been fairly unruly, and that's completely my fault. Truth be told, I let my beard sorta do its own thing for awhile, and until I started using The Perfecter: Beard Boss Stubble and Detail Kit by Remington (available at Walmart & Walmart.com), I hadn't properly groomed my goat for a few years. Much like the well-manicured and shaped hedges that adorn the landscape here at Rock Father HQ, it was time to show similar attention to the shrubbery that adorns my face. I had to show my beard who's boss, and in the process I've grown fond of a tool that I'd now call "essential."

As families prepare to hit the stores for Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday, it's important to be thinking about Giving Tuesday. It's a recent tradition that the Tuesday following Thanksgiving be used to lend a hand to those in need, and this year Carter's is getting in on the action through an extension of their Sweet Dreams Program. Now in their seventh year of partnership with Pajama Program, Carter's and their customers have raised over $3.6M and donated over 756K pajama sets through Sweet Dreams, and for 2016, Carter's gives back on Giving Tuesday. For every Carter’s pajama purchased online at www.Carters.com or at one of Carter’s 650+ retail stores on November 29, Carter’s will donate one of America’s favorite jammies to children in need, in value of over $2 million.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story - Every Story Has A Face...

Written by

We're just over a month out from the theatrical release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and for those who don't yet realize how very different it is from the movies that are traditionally released as part of the numeric Star Wars Saga, today comes a fresh look from an unlikely source - Gillette. As a tie-in marketing partner for the film (along with others, such as Kleenex and Nissan), Gillette is releasing four unique Holiday Gift Packs that are inspired by characters from the upcoming film - a cool thing for sure, but what's really exciting is the commercial. Rogue One is a story about the "every day people" that inhabit a galaxy far, far away - the on-the-ground troops that are on the front lines, and the crews that support them in their efforts to accomplish extraordinary things. This spot from Gillette is more about that than it is about razors. Check out the cinematic new spot below...

PJ Masks Official AmbassadorGet ready for a PJ MASKS Halloween!

"It had been a night not unlike any other... a band of brave heroes, heading out into the darkness ready to face off against fiendish villains to stop them from messing with your day. Indeed, while millions enjoyed a night full of restful sleep, three children would once again be responsible for saving the day... proving definitively that night time is the right time to fight crime. Amaya becomes Owlette... Connor becomes Catboy... and Greg becomes Gekko... the colorful trio known as the PJ MASKS hitting the streets in search of adventure, while serving-up swift justice to wrongdoers. After leaving HQ and discovering that Night Ninja had gone missing, the PJ Masks would soon find that their biggest foe, that marvel of mechanical mischief, Romeo, had completed his most impressive creation yet, the Growy Uppy Machine - a tool able to turn any child into an adult for a small bit of time. Slowed by Luna Girl's sinister Moths, Gekko and Catboy had their hands full, leaving Owlette to face Romeo alone, after he had tested the Growy Uppy Machine... on himself!"

Proving once again what an awesome time it is to be a STAR WARS fan, Her Universe has kicked-off the 2016 Halloween season with a pair of black-and-orange t-shirts for women, each inspired by characters and locations from a galaxy far, far away. Founded by Ashley Eckstein (voice of Ahoska Tano on STAR WARS REBELS and THE CLONE WARS), Her Universe makes fantastic designs rooted in STAR WARS, but also branching into other fandoms like MARVEL, Transformers and more. Take a look at the Halloween offerings below...

PJ MasksIt's time to be a hero! If your little ones are fans of PJ Masks (airing daily on Disney Junior here in the 'States), chances are you know that phrase well - kids by day, superheroes by night! For the past year, kids have been enjoying the adventures of Catboy, Owlette and Gekko, and this Fall they can really start to live the adventures in an all-new assortment of officially-licensed apparel and accessories that's just arrived in time for Back-to-School. Fashions for boys and girls, including hoodies, t-shirts, pajamas, backpacks, lunch kits and more have arrived at Kohl'sTarget and Toys "R" Us.

This Back-to-School Fashion Showcase is presented in partnership with Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, Illinois.

Back-to-School season can be a double-edged sword for people - loving it on one hand, while dreading it on another. Personally, I always loved shopping for new clothes and supplies each year, but as parents, my wife and I feel that the season comes earlier than it did back when we were kids. The Rock Daughters™ get out of school in June, start summer academy right away (no break) and when that wraps at the end of the month, we're already at July and the Back-to-School ads are already showing up in the mailbox. By the end of August, school is back in session and the girls need to be ready to rock the halls... and they're doing it in-style with some new clothes that we discovered during a recent trip to Woodfield Mall - the largest and most-visited mall in Illinois, located just west of Chicago in suburban Schaumburg. Truth be told, I don't know how much attention (if any) my parents paid to fashion trends when we were little, and I know that by my own High School years I wasn't necessarily the most fashionable lad (I'm still not), but it's weird to think that we're now old enough that the trends from our High School years are back in vogue. In the 80s, it was always the 50s/60s that seemed nostalgic... the 70s in the 90s, the 80s in the 00s. Now that 20-year cycle has come into this decade, and #90sRedux is one of the hottest things going. Kids are going back-to-school this fall in what looks like the must-haves circa 1994 - the year that I graduated from High School! Factor in the #OffBeat music-inspired mix and the #ModernUtility trend, and you've got what's essentially my favorite fashion season ever, because what's old is new again (and I'm old?). If we're gonna go throwback, we're also gonna need a proper playlist, so I've curated one on Spotify.

I'm a big fan of pop culture mashups, so when a pair of t-shirts combining former stars of BEVERLY HILLS, 90210 and a couple of iconic bands crossed my feed, my attention was captured. From Los Angeles-based Patti Lapel in collaboration with frank & jan comes "Ian Zeppelin" and "Judas Priestly," bringing Ian Ziering and Led Zeppelin together with Jason Priestly and Judas Priest for what I assume is the very first time. I have no idea how long these have been available, These were first released about six months ago alongside a now-MIA Brian Austin Green/Red Hot Chili Peppers mashup. Like other offerings from Patti Lapel, expect them to be limited-edition. Personally, I'm a big Ian Zeppelin fan.

#GhostbustersWeek concludes on THE ROCK FATHER Magazine...

If Ray Stantz wasn't a great Ghostbustin' scientist, he could've had a fine career in automotive restoration. After all, he did a great job transforming a 1959 Miller-Meteor Cadillac Ambulance into the legendary Ecto-1! In celebration of Ray's restorative endeavors comes this shirt from TeeFury: Ray's Repairs & Resoration - "Bringing Wrecks Back from the Dead Since 1984!"

Are you the Keymaster? How about the Gatekeeper? Those were questions posited in 1984's GHOSTBUSTERS, and in the end, one certainty was that there was no Dana... only ZUUL. Having not yet seen 2016's GHOSTBUSTERS reboot, I don't know if Zuul appears in any form, but the spirit of the beast lives on - celebrated in pop culture, and through numerous mashup t-shirts. For today's pop-fashion feature, I'm featuring some hand-picked designs that come from a trio of my allies: TeeFury, BustedTees and Design by Humans. Check these out!

For over thirty years, kids have been dressing up as Ghostbusters... for playtime, for Halloween, and now as grownups, sometimes the occasion strikes to still dress-up as a Ghostbuster. From Rubies comes a new line Grand Heritage Costumes that are on the higher-end for a more screen-accurate, realistic appearance. These are geared totally toward grownups, and are available from my allies over at Entertainment Earth. Whether you want the classic, 1984 look, or the modern 2016 look, they're available for men and women alike...

Ghostbusters Week: Pop Fashion - No Ghosts!

Written by

#GhostbustersWeek continues on THE ROCK FATHER Magazine with even more pop-fashion... classic style.

When it comes to officially-licensed GHOSTBUSTERS apparel, perhaps no one has a bigger selection available than the folks at 80sTees.com. While they've got numerous different options including costume shirts and those with famous slogans ("Who Ya Gonna Call?"; "We Came We Saw"), you can't go wrong with the classic "No Ghost" logo created by Michael C. Gross. Available on many different colors of shirt for both men and women alike, you can show your GHOSTBUSTERS pride no matter if you dig the 1984 team, the 2016 team, or both!
