One of our favorite product lines is getting bigger. Her Universe has long-been a go-to destination for cool Star Wars gear for women and girls, getting started at a time when availability of fan-centric clothing wasn't as widespread as it is now. The Rock Daughters™ wear it... my wife wears it... and now an even broader set of fans who enjoy Disney, Marvel and Star Wars will be able to get in on the action with the launch of OUR UNIVERSE. Disney made the announcement today that the collaboration with Her Universe and founder Ashley Eckstein will "expand beyond the existing licensed lines of Disney, Marvel, and Star Wars apparel, accessories, and home goods and opens up new categories and opportunities including a new, heroic character-inspired athleisure line for kids and tweens.

If you happen to have run into me at an event over the past few years... or perhaps even run across a photo from such an event, you may have noticed that more often than not, I'm wearing "my own brand." Custom apparel is certainly not a new thing, nor is the idea of showing support for your favorite brands and personalities than rockin' their logo on a tee. It's taken a little bit, but after being gently nudged a few times, I'm happy to reveal that The Rock Father™ T-Shirt Collection is now available, exclusively through TeePublic! The initial launch collection features familiar designs - the logos I'm often seen wearing, each available in both men's and women's styles, with numerous color combinations available. 

As my closet (and wife) can attest to, I'm always on the lookout for interesting pop culture t-shirts, particularly those of the mash-up variety. Last night, one came across that's been out for awhile, but it's new to me, particularly since I've recently become a fan of Hamilton: An American Musical. My wife has been a massive fan for a few years now, but I didn't catch the bug until I we won the Hamilton ticket lottery and scored a pair of second-row seats for just $20(!) to see the show in Chicago last month. "My Shot" is an infectious groove, but like Alexander Hamilton, you know who else didn't want to throw away his shot? Greedo. Yes, the Rodian bounty hunter that met his end at the blaster of Han Solo in the Mos Eisley Cantina. Not familiar with Star Wars: A New Hope? Star Wars x Sperry brings The Force to Your Feet

Star Wars-inspired shoes are hardly a new thing. In fact, my closet currently houses Star Wars-themed shoes from both Vans and Crocs. Over the years, other players have been in the game as well, with brands like Adidas and Sketchers in the mix, but until now the folks at SPERRY have been patiently awaiting their trip to a galaxy far, far away. Officially announced this week, STAR WARS x SPERRY is a celebration of the 40th Anniversary of 1977's STAR WARS (aka STAR WARS: EPISODE IV - A NEW HOPE), with a collection of five all-new pairs of shoes that take specific inspiration from the film that started it all. When you think about backpacks for kids, generally the back-to-school season is the first thing that comes to mind - but there's many different applications and occasions where a proper sack can come in handy. In some cases, a full-size backpack can be too much, and that's where the Gym Rucksack by Beckmann of Norway can come in handy. Over the years, one thing that I've become known for in certain circles is facial hair. There's a spot on my chin that just never seems to be shaved, and if asked to describe it, I'd generally note that it's an 8½-inch goatee. Many people have called it a "beard," and that's valid as well - but it is something that's taken on a life of it's own. Personally, I think it should be longer - and at times, I've asked my wife if she secretly trims its length while I'm sleeping. As most who've seen it up close can attest to, its length and girth is decent (perhaps even impressive to some), but it's been fairly unruly, and that's completely my fault. Truth be told, I let my beard sorta do its own thing for awhile, and until I started using The Perfecter: Beard Boss Stubble and Detail Kit by Remington (available at Walmart & Walmart.com), I hadn't properly groomed my goat for a few years. Much like the well-manicured and shaped hedges that adorn the landscape here at Rock Father HQ, it was time to show similar attention to the shrubbery that adorns my face. I had to show my beard who's boss, and in the process I've grown fond of a tool that I'd now call "essential."

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story - Every Story Has A Face...

We're just over a month out from the theatrical release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and for those who don't yet realize how very different it is from the movies that are traditionally released as part of the numeric Star Wars Saga, today comes a fresh look from an unlikely source - Gillette. As a tie-in marketing partner for the film (along with others, such as Kleenex and Nissan), Gillette is releasing four unique Holiday Gift Packs that are inspired by characters from the upcoming film - a cool thing for sure, but what's really exciting is the commercial. Rogue One is a story about the "every day people" that inhabit a galaxy far, far away - the on-the-ground troops that are on the front lines, and the crews that support them in their efforts to accomplish extraordinary things. This spot from Gillette is more about that than it is about razors. Check out the cinematic new spot below...

Get ready for a PJ MASKS Halloween!
