It’s officially Day 21 of 31 Days of Halloween here on The Rock Father, and what that means is that we’re in the homestretch as we make our way toward the best day of the year… October 31, 2013. As we wind down the month, the Halloween Parties will be increasing in frequency, and whether planned or impromptu, there’s a lot of fun ways to incorporate a Spook-tacular theme without having to crack the crypt for extra bones. With Tombstone (“The Official Pizza of Halloween!”) and Nestle, we turned an early-evening dinner into a super-rockin’ Halloween Party, complete with Pentagram Pizza, Monster Treat Cups and Kids’ Graveyard Cake… and you can do this, too!
The “Scary Packages” on Tombstone Pizzas this month are irresistible to a monster-lover like myself, and the Werewolf-approved Limited Edition Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza is Fang-tastic – and I’m not usually a fan of “Cheeseburger” pizzas. Aside from our party, I stocked-up for other random acts of pizza consumption (I have a pizza fetish). For the kids, Cheese Pizza is the way of The Force, and we did ours up by using metal cookie cutters to make Pumpkin and Ghost-shaped pieces. Fun to make. Fun to eat! But for “The Rock Father,” lover of Heavy Metal and Halloween, the 4-Meat Pizza became Pentagram Pizza \m/ \m/
And you can’t have a party without desert, and in addition to some treat cups set-up on the table, we made a fun cake for Addie to decorate… and both girls to eat.
Kids’ Graveyard Cake:
It might not be pretty, but graveyards seldom are. A quick, cute, and easy-to-make treat for grownups and kids to decorate. A fun afternoon project, or a great party or classroom activity.
To Make this You Will Need:
- 1 Box Cake Mix (and whatever it calls for)
- 1 Jar of Frosting (Orange or Brown)
- 1 8″ Cake Pan
- 2 Small Boxes Nestle Willy Wonka NERDS Candy
- 3-4 Fun Size BUTTERFINGER Candy Bars
- 3-4 Fun Size NESTLE CRUNCH Candy Bars
Prepare an 8″ Round Cake using box instructions (optional – mix some NERDS candies into the mix before baking). Allow cake to cool 15-25 minutes. Frost cake using rubber spatula, and use CRUNCH bars as Tombstones, while using BUTTERFINGER bars to represent Caskets. Lightly-sprinkle NERDS candies throughout to give your cake a personal look and fruity taste!.
