I’m a man. And, I like Yankee Candles. Sure, they’re pricey, but with the right scent they’re totally worth it. That said, I was really surprised to learn that they’d launched a line of MAN CANDLES at some point in the recent past. Maybe it’s silly, but the tought of ‘Riding Mower’ with the odor of ”Hot sun. Cool breeze. And the intensely summery scent of freshly cut grass.” sounds very appealing.
The candlemaker is also offering “2×4” featuring “The warm, unmistakable scent of freshly planed wood and sawdust evokes a sense of confidence and quality.”; “Man Town” which invites you to “Escape to the man cave with this masculine blend of spices, woods and musk.”; and “First Down” (I’m not a football fan) that says it’s “combination of orange, patchouli, vetiver and leather is as exciting as game day.” I have to note that I’m not a fan of the term “Man Cave,” either.
I asked my wife if she was familiar with these and she said “Yes. I heard about them on TV, but whatever show I was watching was making fun of them.”
Take that for what you will.
Now, if I could only get my hands on one of those WHITE CASTLE Slider Candles from a few years back… she’d kill me. My wife hates White Castle.
