There’s a lot of benefits to doing what I do, and the warmer months are where that largely becomes apparent. While the Rock & Roll Handbook clearly states that one should never wake up prior to noon, that’s doesn’t exactly work here, despite being “The Rock Father.” With my wife out the door at 6:30am and two little girls to get rolling for school, I’m up early – but working from home means that sometimes I can move “dinner” up a few hours, or just make something special for lunch. Grilled sausage at noon on a weekday, paired with KRAFT Macaroni & Cheese? That can happen.
While my girls are pretty picky eaters (and that includes my wife), I can’t go wrong pairing some turkey dogs with The Cheesiest for a simple lunch, paired with some fruit for dessert. But for me? I make a summer lunch with some fresh-grilled Cheddar Bratwurst, blackened, chopped, and served-atop a perfect, one-cup serving of KRAFT Macaroni & Cheese.
That way, even if the girls are already done eating by the time I’m done cooking, I can kick back on the deck and watch the little ones play in the yard , while enjoying a grown-up version of one of my own childhood favorites.
