On January 1 of this year, I launched the 2014 Fitness Challenge here on THE ROCK FATHER. After years of leading a lifestyle that wasn’t exactly great for my body, I started a gradual change three years ago when I quit smoking, and this year the time finally came to really start leading a healthy lifestyle. I’ve changed my diet, count calories, and now hit the gym 4-5 nights per week. One important change has been making sure not to skip breakfast (which I have a habit of forgetting to eat), and in doing so, I’ve rekindled my love of cereal – something that started last Fall when I first mentioned trying Silk Almondmilk after not drinking any kind of milk since 1989. Recently, the folks at Silk got in touch about their new Silk Almondmilk Blends – and one of them fit right into my routine: Protein + Fiber. Can Almondmilk rock? I say “YES!”
My days start off with getting the girls ready for theirs – dressed and into the kitchen for a good breakfast – but after they’re settled, it’s my turn to get fueled-up for the morning, and lately it’s been a bowl of cereal (today it was Raisin Bran) served with the Silk Almondmilk Protein + Fiber.
With 50% more calcium than dairy milk and the addition of 5g of protein and 5g of fiber, it’s perfectly balanced to compliment my personal goals while tasting great.
If you’d like to make a change for the better and give Almondmilk a try, head over to the Silk Facebook Page to grab a coupon good toward their new blends (they have a Coconut Milk, too).
I dig it, and think you will, too! Plus, if food allergies are an issue for you, Silk is dairy, gluten and soy-free. Food for thought.
And how do my nights end? Usually at the gym, and I’ve been Instagramming daily progress photos. The change can already be seen.
Disclosure: As noted above, this post was brought to you by Silk – makers of a product that rocks, and one that The Rock Father is pleased to endorse (and even got paid to do so). Virtual metal fingers \m/ \m/!
