I’ve been on this HAZZERD train since I first heard them in 2017. Uncompromising, heavy, and brutalizing thrash metal is one of the few ways to my cold, blackened heart, and these guys deliver and then some.
The new album, The 3rd Dimension, is out now, and believe me, it absolutely slays. Again, I’ve been a fan, but on this one, they took their sound and aggressive nature to another level. Case in point? “Unto Ashes” — it’s a personal favorite not just from this album, but the entire HAZZERD discography.
Oh, and let’s talk openers, hey? I meaeeean “Interdimension” is a masterclass in thrash; case closed. Following that, we get “Scars,” which should come with a warning: “might induce concussions!” “Deathbringer” shows off the tasty guitar work that this band is capable of.
Elsewhere, you’ll find that “Plagueis,” “ThArSh TiLl DeTh,” and “Parasitic” just crank that motor till we’re crashing, not into something, but THROUGH it. Oh, and what’s this? A nine-minute and change epic called “A Fell Omen?” Well, clutch the pearls; I might faint from the greatness!
Closing things out is “Control,” another arrow in the quiver of heavy brought on by these guys. At the end of the day, The 3rd Dimension is a fantastic record, and I have been blasting it on REPEAT daily. Pick this up, and you will, too!
It’s available now through M-Theory Audio. Grab yours and spread the HAZZERD love around!
