The crew over at Diamond Select Toys sent a quick update to inform the masses that their movie-themed wave of MARVEL MINIMATES has begun hitting TOYS R US stores. While THE AVENGERS doesn’t hit U.S. screens for a few more days, you can certainly track down a ton of cool merch for kids of all ages. Here’s what they say about the Minimates.
Included in this wave are “four two-packs featuring Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Nick Fury and Loki. Diamond Select Toys took the figures out on the streets of New York City to recreate their epic battle with Loki’s Army, and they look even more spectacular in action! The Loki’s Army Footsoldier and General and Maria Hill Minimates will be available exclusively at at comic shops later in May, so for now you’ll have to make the Avengers fight each other, but judging by the trailers (and 50 years of comic books) that is apparently fairly common.
All Minimates are 2 inches tall with 14 points of articulation, and they come with numerous accessories and interchangeable parts. Hawkeye and Hulk each include an extra head, and Cap and Iron Man have removable masks.”
