It’s two days ’til new baby (scheduled for delivery on Friday) and the excitement is getting going. Today I made the 160-mile round-trip to pick up my Mom, and after returning home, she and the munchkin spent time playing while I hit a bunch of last-minute to-do items. The crowning achievement of the afternoon? Putting together the new Pack ‘n Play. This isn’t like the old one we sold on the garage sale last summer, it’s more like someone said ”Pimp my Pack ‘n Play.”
This time we opted for the Graco Pack ‘n Play with Newborn Napper Station “Deluxe.” We bought it at Babies R Us, so no this isn’t a review or a shill of any kind. We went with this one simply because it has a built-in changing table with a nook for all the needed supplies, along with a “newborn napper” and a bassinet option. When we did the whole “newborn” thing nearly three years ago, we were in an apartment and on one level. Now, we’re in a split-level house and since I’ll be balancing a toddler and a newborn after my wife goes back to work, cutting down on the up/down will be appreciated. That changing table should help do the trick.
This thing took about an hour for initial set-up, and I’d hardly call it “portable” in it’s present state. I’m guessing that the idea is that it’s only portable as a true Pack ‘n Play. With all the added accessories, it’s pretty solid. At this point? Just add baby.
Until tomorrow…
