Since Addie officially went “Back-to-School” today, this is probably the last food-related post I’ll do for my inaugural BTS season. While we’ve been very fortunate to have a pair of healthy kids with no allergies thus far, studies show that 1 in 13 kids suffers from a food allergy. Because of this, we’re always mindful of the snacks that are around when groups of kids are present. For parents looking for some special treats for special dietary needs, Lucy’s might be exactly what you’re after. Her Cookies and Brownies are All-Natural, Gluten-Free, Vegan, and Allergy-Friendly with no peanuts or tree nuts, milk or eggs. In addition, everything is crafted in a dedicated bakery.
Lucy’s sent over a few samples for us to try here at Rock Father HQ, and they’re good… but I do have to note that there is a difference in taste and texture to a longtime cookie aficionado like myself. The little ones had no complaints, but I found them to be on the dry side – with the cookies being of the crisp variety (I’m a soft cookie fan). Despite that minor quip, I’d buy these… especially the seasonally-appropriate Pumpkin Patch variety. It’s as if they knew that I was Pumpkin-Obsessed.
Lucy’s Cookies are considered Rock Father-Approved for those looking to satisfy the craving for a sweet, while staying mindful of dietary restrictions. For details on where to find them, check out http://www.drlucys.com/
