Nearly 14 months have passed since I last mentioned him on The Rock Father, but as of today… our little friend from Tatooine has returned to the Garden here at Rock Father HQ. The Ceremonial Placement of the Garden JAWA has once again taken place, kicking off the “official” official start of the 2013 Gardening Season for us, later than last year (which had record heat) as we’re still going hot/cold here in Northern Illinois. Our little scavenger is ready to rock and roll, with his garden tools tucked firmly into his bandolier strap, and his hose ready to soak the earth. Even better? Not once has he tried to sell me a stolen droid. “Utini!”
With STAR WARS EPISODE VII ramping up for a 2015 release, I certainly hope that JJ Abrams and the folks at Disney are planning to get some Jawas back into the mix. So much potential with these little guys… and I sorta want a Sandcrawler for my Garden, too.
Our Gardening Season got off to a bit of a rough start as I bought a portable greenhouse from Lowes and after it blew over in a storm (I anchored it after that), I managed to fry a bunch of seedlings on the first 90 degree day. That said, I have a tray of 72 sunflowers growing in the kitchen, and hope to get a good crop going after the rabbits did them in last year. This weekend, we might get the raised beds ready for veggies.
Stay tuned…
