THE ROCK FATHER is a paid STAR WARS #CommandTheForce Ambassador and has partnered with Hasbro and Life of Dad for this adventure. May The Force Be With You, Always.
I’ve been trying to Command The Force since about 1977, inspired by a galaxy far, far away…
As part of the first generation to be inspired by the vast universe that George Lucas created, STAR WARS, like The Force itself, surrounds us, penetrates us, and binds people together. As a parent, STAR WARS has also become a bond between father and child, as my wife and I raise two girls as part of the next generation. Like their father before them, these little ones are both creating and recreating some of the galaxy’s most epic battles as they Command The Force with the power of their own imaginations. Play is important, and sometimes to find new ways to play, one must look to the past.
STAR WARS COMMAND is a new line of toys that lets kids take control of some of the most memorable battles in STAR WARS history through a collection of affordably-priced, permanently posted figures that put some new spins on the classic army play that kids like me grew up on.
From the Battle of Hoth in THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK, to the final showdown in The Emperor’s Throne Room in RETURN OF THE JEDI, there’s Battle, Versus and Invasion Packs that add to the excitement, and whether it’s The Empire or The Rebellion that you side with, the forces will be mighty.
For us, Disney XD’s STAR WARS REBELS has become the real door-opener to the greater Saga, with weekly adventures fueling curiosity and inspiring more play. Both of my girls were beyond thrilled to find sets featuring new, yet familiar characters like Sabine, Kanan, Ezra Bridger, Zeb and Chopper – all set to face off against The Inquisitor, Agent Kallus and their growing legion of Stormtroopers.
The Millenium Falcon reaching Hyperspace on the kitchen floor? It can happen, with innovative features like two-speed pull-back action that finds Captain Solo’s famous ship rolling slowly before speeding up to “take off” (it’s on wheels) and wipe out the pesky Imperial Stormtroopers in the way.
Recreating the arrival of The Emperor on the second Death Star? Absolutely (I have a custom, not-for-sale display base for the kids that we use for action play here at Rock Father HQ) and the Imperial Officers will stand at attention as Lord Vader makes way for Emperor Palpatine… jut before Luke Skywalker, Chopper, and Imperial Walker and Han Solo bust in on the action… because if that’s what the kids want, then that’s the way it goes down!
