Chef Mario Batali is leading the charge to #86AIDS this month, marking 33 years since the deadly disease was discovered. As part of (RED)’s EAT (RED). DRINK (RED). SAVE LIVES campaign, Chef Mario Batali and Omaze.com are offering one lucky foodie the chance to see their culinary dreams come true – and making the contest truly sweet is that each ticket entry helps fight AIDS and save lives. Each $10 entry ticket helps provide HIV+ pregnant women access to the lifesaving medication they heed to ensure that their children are born HIV free. Check out Mario’s pitch below – and then hear what U2’s Bono has added to the mix…

Now, if by some chance you don’t want to join Chef Mario Batali in New York for a meal, there’s a certain vocalist that just might be up for it – one that still hasn’t found what he’s looking for, but say’s he’s “in” for the challenge.
Bono tossed an Instagram video into the mix (viewable left, or
here) and is encouraging folks to enter.
Additionally, now through June 10th, hundreds of restaurants, food trucks, bars and food markets worldwide are adding a (RED) item to their menus and making donations to the Global Fund to fight AIDS.
