And you thought I was done covering FROZEN for a bit? Think again! On November 18, Walt Disney Animation Studio’s Academy Award-winning pop culture sensation rings in the holiday season with the release of the FROZEN Sing-Along Edition on DVD + Digital Combo Pack (no Blu-ray, it seems). Available for pre-order now at Disney Store, this is the version that became a last-minute phenomenon that I discussed with filmmakers Jennifer Lee, Chris Buck and Peter Del Vecho back in February – put together after plans for the initial DVD/Blu-ray release were already in motion. Check out a just-released announcement trailer via Facebook right now.
The FROZEN Sing-Along DVD will include the anticipated “Breaking the Ice: The Making of FROZEN” featurette that was previously-announced, but then missing from the first release.
As if FROZEN weren’t enough of a pop culture phenomenon for everyone, we really have a connection with it here as I took part in the Press Tour for the film earlier this year, where I spent some time with the Academy Award-winning filmmakers (Jennifer Lee, Chris Buck, Peter Del Vecho), lent my voice to Olaf, and got to go hands-on in the animation lab. As a parent, this is the first time that I’ve witnessed a movie that has instantly resonated with both of my daughters, and become something that they’ve added to on a near-daily basis by letting themselves inhabit the characters.
Will you be picking up the Sing-Along Edition? Curious to know if the re-issue is gonna be HUGE again…
