Back to the beginning, Carrie Fisher’s Princess Leia Organa first became a Kenner action figure as part of the STAR WARS Early Bird set that was offered as a certificate for Christmas of 1977. The actual figures hit the streets in 1978, and Leia was there, eventually reissued numerous times throughout the STAR WARS, EMPIRE STRIKES BACK, RETURN OF THE JEDI and POWER OF THE FORCE collections. I remember having the original, which was probably one of the best – especially given the treatment that the “first appearance” style Leia received in the late 90s and early 00s. She wasn’t exactly the dainty or beautiful Princess that we’d remembered… but that 1978 original is today’s featured entry into Hasbro’s Force Friday Countdown Calendar!

Keep your browser pointed toward THE ROCK FATHER as we continue the #ForceFridayCountdown en route to #ForceFriday, the day that new Hasbro toys for STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS arrive at retail! 58 Days to Go!
