One of the wonderful things that Hasbro has managed to do so well (and a few times, not) over the years is to crossover and mash-up their brands and licenses. One such area of crossover fun is the Mr. Potato Head line, produced under Playskool. I have some different variations on the classic Potato Head here at Rock Father HQ (like the TRANSFORMERS’ Optimash Prime), but back in 2005, The Dark Side reigned supreme with the release of Darth Tater and the Spudtrooper. These Imperial Potatoes are featured as today’s entry in the Force Friday Countdown Calendar, looking back at nearly four decades of STAR WARS toys.
Fun Fact: Hasbro currently licenses the Mr. Potato Head brand to PPW Toys, who continues to produce themed items under their Pop Taters line. STAR WARS has a heavy presence, as does a variety of characters from Disney’s MARVEL universe.
