The Rancor – back in 1983, we thought of the Rancor as just that… the Rancor, but as time has told, there are many of these large reptilian carnivores roaming the galaxy. It just happened that Jabba the Hutt had one as a pet beneath his palace in RETURN OF THE JEDI, and unfortunately, ol’ Jabba made the mistake of offering up a certain Jedi Knight known as Luke Skywalker as a snack. Didn’t end well for the Rancor, but at least he did have one last meal – a tasty Gamorrean Guard. It’s also unfortunate (though something I’m working on changing), but if I take off my shirt and drape it over my head properly, I sorta look like Malakili – “The Rancor Keeper.” For today’s entry in Hasbro’s Force Friday Calendar, The Legacy Collection Jabba’s Rancor with Luke Skywalker figure is featured. Rumor has it that a new Rancor is being released later this year, and if so, I need to get it for myself The Rock Daughters….
