We’re nearing the end… #ForceFriday is just five days away, and STAR WARS fans are making plans for where they’ll be to get their hands on the first merchandise from J.J. Abrams’ STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS. Since May, we’ve been taking part in Hasbro’s Force Friday Countdown Calendar – presenting a daily look at items from nearly four decades of STAR WARS toys. The final countdown begins now, with 2008’s Yaddle from “The Legacy Collection” of action figures featured. When she first appeared on-screen in THE PHANTOM MENACE, I thought it was cool to see another of Yoda’s species… but at the same time, I was conflicted in that having Yoda being the only one (kind of like Tigger in Winnie the Pooh) was even cooler…
While there wasn’t a lot of background on Yaddle presented in cinematic form, a robust backstory was revealed in other mediums, something expected for characters in a galaxy far, far away. The folks at STAR WARS MINUTE put together this cool history of Yoda’s female counterpart:
