They said absolutely nothing when they appeared for the first time in STAR WARS: EPISODE VI – RETURN OF THE JEDI back in 1983, but The Emperor’s Royal Guards quickly became mysterious favorites for kids like myself, who needed at least two so that The Emperor could properly be flanked as he was on the second Death Star. The characters have been made a few times over the years, and today’s entry in Hasbro’s Force Friday Countdown Calendar focuses on The Vintage Collection version from 2008, which I do not have. What I do have are a pair of late 90s POWER OF THE FORCE editions, along with the 12″ doll that came alongside The Emperor some years ago. Here’s hoping that we see some variation of these silent sentries when J.J. Abrams’ THE FORCE AWAKENS hits theaters this December!

Keep your browser pointed toward THE ROCK FATHER as we continue the #ForceFridayCountdown en route to #ForceFriday, the day that new Hasbro toys for STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS arrive at retail! 79 Days to Go!
