Former ANTHRAX guitarist Dan Spitz has a new project featuring Dave Mustaine of MEGADETH, and if you have yet to hear of RED LAMB, then some of the details may surprise you. With their new song Puzzle Box, the band ”are telling the story of what it’s like for a family to live with identical/mirror image twins with Autism.” Spitz and his wife, Candi, have identical twins with Autism.
Released last week, the Puzzle Box video presents the song (by Sptiz) and it’s lyrics (by Mustaine and Spitz) alongside important statistics and footage captured at the “Walk Now for Autism Speaks” event in Palm Beach, Florida. Chris Vrenna (former NIN/Marilyn Manson) and producer Johnny K (Disturbed/Sevendust) were recruited to mix the song. Vocals are handled by Don Chaffin.

Dan Spitz says, “It’s time for someone in music to wake the world up to Autism. We have Holly Robinson Peete in film, we have vocal people in NASCAR and of course Dan Marino and others in sports. Now it’s time for someone who lives it to speak the truth to the people in true metal fashion. I come from a time when the lyrics of a song represented truth that can certainly change the world. Now it’s time to let people know we are in epidemic form with Autism, as 1 in every 88th child born (1 in every 54th boy) will be diagnosed in the spectrum. I feel that if we don’t do something now about this the Autism epidemic, more will people will suffer the consequences. Autism is on your block now.”
Candi Spitz devotes all of her free to time to the largest Autism non-profit, Autism Speaks www.autismspeaks.org. She can be seen on every billboard, print ad, newscast and radio ad.
RED LAMB is an independent, self-funded band, and has been releasing music on their own to iTunes and AmazonMP3 via Tunecore. Throw them some support by LIKING them on Facebook, and downloading “Puzzle Box” on iTunes.
