I’ve reviewed CHUGGINGTON here on THE ROCK FATHER in the past, but something interesting has happened since the last time I discussed these chatty trains and their adventures – Little Finley turned two, and she’s become a lot more chatty herself – and when she walks over and hands me a CHUGGINGTON DVD accompanied by the request of “Daddy, watch train?” it’s absolutely adorable. With the recent release of EXPLORER KOKO on DVD, we’ve had the opportunity to experience some new episodes here at Rock Father HQ, and a cool thing that’s also a rarity is that Koko is a female train, and as a parent of two girls, I like seeing her in the lead for this collection.

CHUGGINGTON focuses on teaching preschoolers a variety of skills and values as the younger Chuggers (like Koko) learn from their older, more “grownup” counterparts – fantastic to see as it helps reinforce the importance of listening to parents and teachers in the real world.
Here we find Koko taking the King and his crew on a ride throughout their mystical lands (a big job for the youngster) and even learning why too much screen time can be too much of a good thing (moderation, even with CHUGGINGTON). Favorite friends like Wilson and Brewster are there for learning, too, through colorful, vibrant visuals and excellent storytelling.
EXPLORER KOKO includes the following episodes: “Explorer Koko,” “Runaway Koko,” “Fearless Wilson,” “Koko’s Game,” “Hodge’s Secret” and “Inspector Emery”
Recommended.
