I’ve long-held that DANIEL TIGER’S NEIGHBORHOOD is one of the top five current programs aimed at preschoolers, and this month PBS Distribution has issued an all-new, entry level collection of episodes on DVD. Airing daily on PBS KIDS, this series from The Fred Rogers Company carries on the legacy of MISTER ROGERS’ NEIGHBORHOOD through the adventures of four-year-old Daniel Tiger as he learns and grows with the help of his family and friends, presenting viewers with easy-to-follow lessons that kids can relate to. WELCOME TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD is a bargain-priced DVD (list price is just $6.99) that serves up 3 episodes (one of which is the special double-episode, “Neighbor Day”) and comes with a 12-piece puzzle.
If you’ve watched the show as much as we have, chances are you’ve seen these a few times already, but as PBS KIDS continues it’s mission to make content available whenever and wherever families may need it, having a collection like this on-hand is always a good thing. In fact, this 60-minute DVD is the perfect collection to stash at Grandma’s House for special visits.
Episodes included on WELCOME TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD:
- Daniel’s Birthday – Daniel is excited to pick out a cake for his birthday party. After a bumpy ride on Trolley, Daniel is disappointed to find that his cake is smushed.
- Daniel’s Picnic – Daniel, Prince Wednesday and Miss Elaina are having a picnic. It starts to rain, and everything is ruined, leaving them very disappointed.
- Neighbor Day – Daniel learns how good it feels to be neighborly and that one kind act can lead to many.
