With the amount of options available for kids in the diecast aisles, it’s often easy to overlook some of the most creative ones in the mix. From Mattel’s Hot Wheels Super Rigs Collection comes the Pencil Pusher, a removable cab semi-truck that’s inspired by the creativity of a child. This isn’t just a toy truck, though – it comes packed with a gold chrome edition of the famed “Hot Wheels High School” bus, and the truck itself is sized right to haul crayons. But that’s not all…
The side of the trailer has a built-in crayon sharpener, while the cab of the truck can be used as a cup for crayons and pencils. The roof of the trailer is actually a ruler, which slides in-and-out, and doubles as a stencil for perfect circle making.
With so much creativity packed into one little package, the Pencil Pusher is one of my favorite Hot Wheels vehicles that we’ve come across this year, and one that makes a great gift for any art-loving Hot Wheels fan.
These ship to stores assorted, so be on the lookout for them on pegs at stores like Walmart, Toys “R” Us, Target, Meijer, etc. for right around the $6-$7 mark. The Mattel Shop also has limited quantities in-stock as of this writing for just $5.99. As with many Hot Wheels that cross over into collectible realm, third party sellers have been scooping these up to flip them, so they have been priced in the $20 range on sites like Amazon. Just something to be aware of, as I personally wouldn’t pay more than list price since this is a toy that really needs to be played with.
