In raising a pair of young girls and serving as publisher of this website, I find myself constantly trying to center the teeter-totter that rides a line between educational and entertaining. Ideally, the majority of the programming that they watch regularly will be somewhere near that middle point, completely making learning fun. Disney Junior’s MICKEY MOUSE CLUBHOUSE definitely brings the fun, and with it’s latest DVD collection, AROUND THE CLUBHOUSE WORLD, introduces young audiences (2+) to the idea of countries and cultures well beyond our own.
Packed complete with a passport that includes postcards, stickers, and info on France, Italy, Egypt and China, AROUND THE CLUBHOUSE WORLD taps into that classic Disney message that “it’s a small world,” as Mickey and the gang literally make their way around the clubhouse… “world,” for adventures with mystical dragons and ancient riddles, breaking out a variety of Mousketools, and breaking the fourth wall to ask the little viewers for help.

The passport itself is a cool thing, as grownups watching along can “stamp” the passport with the included stickers on each stop if they choose. In addition to the feature presentation, there’s four additional episodes included, a random selection plucked from the show’s four-season run.
