I’m not sure anyone is 100% sure how to get to SESAME STREET from Brooklyn (I believe it’s somewhere in Manhattan), but one man who could probably supply some directions is Bob McGrath – THE “Bob” – who just began his 43rd season on the popular PBS Kids show. A “Rock Father” himself with five children, McGrath has released numerous children’s albums, a a seasonally-appropriate CHRISTMAS SING ALONG. On December 9, he’ll be appearing at the monthly HIP TOT MUSIC FEST, where he’ll be joined by Jeremy Plays Guitar and his Rock-ucation Band. Jeremy Plays Guitar is the official band of Rock-ucation, Inc. where music is not only educational, it ROCKS!
The action takes place at the Littlefield in Brooklyn, with tickets available now at Ticketfly.

Meet Hip Tot’s very own Santa! This Santa is anything but your department store variety. Fifth-generation New Yorker Erica Goepel (that’s right, Santa’s a girl) is full of joy, enrobed in a handmade costume based on traditional St. Nicholas images so bring your camera.
Hip Tot Music Fest has recently signed a multi-year strategic partnership with Walsh Family Media who bring The Cool Beans animated Band to life with a live pre-concert performance. “Imagine our audience of young hip kids’ as they get blown away when Veg-J of The Cool Beans jumps out of the screen on to the stage ripping his guitar in full costume, in a live pre-show performance,” states Hip Tot Music Fest co-producer Gabby Napolitano. To celebrate this partnership Walsh Family Media is offering FREE-download of ‘Bean Somethin’ at www.walshfamilymedia.com.
Happy Family Brands also sponsors the pre-concert fest featuring performances from The Cool Beans and Jeté Dance Center; a book reading of by children’s book author and illustrator Melanie Hope Greenberg ; Glitter Tattoos with Glitter Tattoo New York, Face Painting with Lady Z; and Cardboard castle built by Mini Jake and Makedo.
Families have a blast with new exciting performers each month that the whole family can enjoy, as well as giveaways of great stuff like face painting for a party, autographed copies of Melanie Hope Greenberg books and music CDs. Plus each family goes home with a goody bag filled with Cool Bean flip books, tattoos, stickers, discount cards and more–all in the heart of Brooklyn at Littlefield, 622 Degraw Street, in Gowanus.
