Shamrock Shakes Return to McDonald’s; Uncle O’Grimacey Still Missing

McDonald’s dropped a surprise this week as Shamrock Shakes hit the menu a bit earlier than usual.

The company’s “menu spotter” broke the news that “Shamrock SZN is finally here!” as the famed Shamrock Shake and OREO Shamrock McFlurry returned to participating restaurants on Feb. 5.

If you’ve not enjoyed a Shamrock Shake (and I did have one the other day), McDonald’s says “It’s made with creamy vanilla soft serve, blended with mint syrup and topped with a sweet, whipped topping.”

While the Shamrock Shake is back in action, Grimace’s long-lost Uncle O’Grimacey is still missing. Rumor has it that he went out for a shake sometime in the ’70s and never came back.
