I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again – there’s nothing like sitting back with a pumpkin beer in-hand, the smell of the cool autumn breeze coming through the windows, and the sweet sound of SLAYER blaring from the speakers of the hi-fi in October. I love SLAYER, so when two press releases relating to the metal titans landed here on the same day, I knew a post was in order. First-up, the band is in Henson Recording Studios in Hollywood right now, working on their new album, and a sneak-preview video has arrived via Scion A/V, who soon release a new track by the band…

Second, spoofs of the now-infamous Matthew McConaughey Lincoln commercials are all the rage (See: SOUTH PARK, SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE featuring JIM CARREY), and now SLAYER is in on the action with a “fan” allegedly trying to sell their 1997 Ford Escort LX in exchange for SLAYER tickets. The video is amusing, but they could’ve made it seem a little more legit by not posting it on the YouTube account of the digital agency that made it:

Finally, if you’d like to win tickets to see SLAYER on their current tour with EXODUS and SUICIDAL TENDENCIES, visit the SCION A/V website to get details on a cool contest they’re having to make it happen.

Ready for new SLAYER? I am…
