With Star Wars Day falling on a Monday this year, the folks at Toys “R” Us got their action going a day early (Sunday, May 3) with a special LEGO build in which kids were able to build and take home a miniature LEGO STAR WARS Wookiee Gunship and an exclusive comic book – both completely free. While TRU has been doing cool in-store events for awhile, this is just a small piece of a larger initiative that looks to get families into the stores and build excitement for the forthcoming release of STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS this December. We attended at our local store yesterday, and while Addie was completely into the LEGO build, both girls enjoyed seeing their old friend, Geoffrey, and Little Miss Finley was really digging the larger-scale STAR WARS figures by JAKKS Pacific… greeting each one, which is something she’s done on each of our past few TRU visits. Take a look…

The folks at TRU also sent over some photos of what things looked like elsewhere in the Country…
Toys “R” Us recently declared themselves to be “Destination: STAR WARS,” and has announced a special Midnight Madness opening on #ForceFriday – September 4, 2015, when families will be able to get their hands on the first toys and collectibles from the new STAR WARS film.
