Tonight during the Olympics coverage on NBC, the world got their first look at the latest trailer for Lucasfilm’s ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY. Directed by Gareth Edwards (GODZILLA), this is the first live-action feature to take place outside of the “episodic” STAR WARS Saga since the made-for-TV Ewok movies of the 1980s, and a very different type of STAR WARS film. This is the tale of the Rebel Alliance and their small band of fighters mentioned in the opening crawl of 1977’s STAR WARS: A NEW HOPE, the ones who must steal the plans to The Empire’s dreaded new super-weapon, The Death Star.
ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY stars Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Forest Whitaker, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Riz Ahmed, Jiang Wen, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk and more, with James Earl Jones reprising his role as the voice of Darth Vader.
