Megatron, Starscream, Scrapper… Construction Guy? Many actors have voiced the first three of those characters in the TRANSFORMERS universe over the past thirty years, but what you probably don’t know is that one of the lesser-known actors is typing these words on your screen right now. You see, for a time in my days prior to becoming “The Rock Father,” I was all over the entertainment world, and I did a bit of acting both for fun and profit. Back in 2007, to coincide with the release of Michael Bay’s first TRANSFORMERS film, Hasbro partnered with the departed G4 network for a contest on ATTACK OF THE SHOW! in which contestants could try their hand at some TRANSFORMERS action – and I threw my hat into the ring, re-editing some classic G1 episodes and voicing the characters for a segment called MEGATRON’S TRUE MOTIVATION. That led to me receiving what may be the rarest TRANSFORMERS action figure of all-time… direct from Hasbro. Take a look…

MEGATRON’S TRUE MOTIVATION:
“In this comedic take on the original G1 Transformers Cartoon episode “Heavy Metal Wars”, the Constructicons pay a visit to some unsuspecting workers in order to acquire a crucial component for Megatron’s latest project. After returning back to the Decepticon’s hidden base, Megatron and Starscream put the finishing touches on a project so special, that even Optimus Prime will find himself envious.”
On July 3, 2007, the segment ran in it’s entirety on ATTACK OF THE SHOW!, cementing my very tiny place in TRANSFORMERS history, and scoring me a very coveted prize – “A one-of-a-kind” Chrome Optimus Prime that was handmade by the Hasbro Design Team. Fast-forward seven years, and TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION is hitting theaters (I’ll be seeing it tonight), I have two daughters, this website, and Optimus now inhabits a special place in my office here at Rock Father HQ.
