The TRANSFORMERS franchise is something I hold very close to my heart in nearly all of its forms – from the 1984 G1 (Generation 1) cartoons and toys, all the way through Michael Bay’s live-action film series. Sure, there have been some missteps here and there, but what franchise is without the occasional wrong turn? For the fifth installment of the film series, there have been a lot of rumors thrown around, but the one that really sticks is that the fifth round will be the start of something different… perhaps even something closer to the classic TRANSFORMERS action that many have been craving. What we do know today is that TRANSFORMERS: THE LAST KNIGHT begins production this week in Cuba, confirmed on Bay’s website and the TRANSFORMERS socials.

Fun Fact: When Bay’s first TRANSFORMERS was released back in July of 2007, I did a little video for the late G4TV’s Attack of the Show for which I received a one (or two, depending on how you look at it) of a kind Chrome Optimus Prime direct from the Hasbro Design Team. Hard to believe that was nearly a decade ago already!
