Okay, “officially” it’s not a “trailer,” but this “footage was prepared for the filmmakers as a special look for fans in attendance at Comic-Con 2016.” As we know from year’s past, it doesn’t take long for horrible quality unauthorized footage to hit the web, and this year Warner Bros. is being proactive about it by sharing the first trailer footage from Zack Snyder’s forthcoming JUSTICE LEAGUE with the masses, mere minutes after causing the infamous Hall H to erupt. I’m a lifelong “DC Kid,” and I loved BATMAN v. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE (review here), but as we all know, many thought the film was too heavy and/or too dark/serious. From this footage and some previous set reports, JUSTICE LEAGUE appears to have a much lighter tone, and again – I love what I’m seeing. The beauty of these timeless characters is that they work well under different direction and different storytelling conditions, and I do dig seeing Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) lighten up a bit as he puts a team together… OCEAN’S 11-style, while set to THE WHITE STRIPES‘ “Icky Thump.” Check this out!
JUSTICE LEAGUE will arrive in theaters on November 23, 2017.
