As Toy Fair New York and Star Wars Celebration Orlando approach, Star Wars fans are getting exceptionally eager to learn what plans have been made to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Star Wars Saga. While May is likely the big month (A New Hope was released on 5-25-77), we've got some time before that, and the folks at Hasbro have no shortage of new toys yet to come. Yesterday some rumors were confirmed as my favorite line - the 3.75" action figure assortment - will get new characters from Gareth Edwards' Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Disney XD's Star Wars Rebels. Check out a full gallery below, along with details on some new offerings beyond the realm of figures!

Yesterday, Instagram user ulrichlulu posted what may have been the first-ever picture of the new Galen Erso action figure from Hasbro's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story collection. Reposted by actor Mads Mikkelsen on his official channels this morning, the folks at Hasbro got in touch with an official product shot that I'm excited to share with you today. Check out the new 3.75" action figure below!

Star Wars 40th AnniversaryI have been singing the praises of Disney XD's Star Wars Rebels for years, and now, with Gareth Edwards' Rogue One: A Star Wars Story taking audiences back to a galaxy far, far away - but in a time period just prior to the events of 1977's Star Wars: A New Hope, there's even more pieces of the puzzle that are falling into place. In a masterful form, 'Rebels as been filling the gaps between The Clone Wars and the original trilogy, and with the release of the Season 3 Mid-Season Trailer, we see some new faces to 'Rebels that will be completely fresh in the minds of those who have just enjoyed Rogue One. A ton of Mandalorians, Saw Gerrara, Mon Mothma, and even some "crazy old hermit" known as "Old Ben" are ready to join the action...

STAR WARS 40th AnniversaryAs we enter 2017, we're now less than five months away from the 40th Anniversary of George Lucas' 1977 Star Wars: A New Hope. One of the looming, and most often-asked questions here at Rock Father HQ pertains to an area of my specialty, and that's toys. "What new toys are on the way for Star Wars' 40th Anniversary?" Quite simply, I don't know... yet - but I do have some ideas for how it'll all go down.

Entertainment Earth Gareth Edwards' Rogue One: A Star Wars Story continues to dominate the box office in the days post-Christmas, and as the film continues to take audiences back to a galaxy far, far away, there's more fun to be had in action figure form. The third wave of Hasbro's Rogue One 3 ¾" action figures is starting to make its way to retail, and while it's often difficult to find the full assortment just hanging on the pegs at your local store, my allies at Entertainment Earth (one of my sponsors) have just received a shipment of the new wave - "Hot Off the Truck!" These are sold as case packs, so you get two of each figure (split it with a friend?), and this assortment is a good one - evenly balanced, and featuring new characters from Rogue One, along with a pair of fan favorites from Disney XD's Star Wars Rebels. Check it out...

As Gareth Edwards' Rogue One: A Star Wars Story continues to be discovered by audiences and analyzed by fans, one major point of agreement is that Alan Tudyk's motion-capture performance as reprogrammed Imperial Droid K-2SO is stellar. Devoid of inhibitions and allowed to speak his true feelings at all times, this towering new character is a sidekick for Captain Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), and as many have already seen, a true hero of the Rebellion. Tonight comes a new featurette on K-2SO and his very human performer. Check it out...
