It was just over two years ago already that I reviewed the self-titled debut from RIFF ROCKIT, the multimedia, kindie alter-ego of Evan Michael. In that time, the project has grown, and now it’s time for Michael (a leukemia survivor) to give back, with the release of his first Spanish-Language album, LUZ VERDE VAMOS! All proceeds from the sale of this new record (out June 17) will benefit the blood cancer research efforts of BE THE MATCH.

Bringing the Latin flavor of the project to the forefront, Rockit enlisted guitarist Alejandro Garcia (Cheyenne, Julio Iglesias), who also serves as one of two producers on the album. The other, Bob St. John, is known for his diverse body of work that includes albums with EXTREME, DURAN DURAN and COLLECTIVE SOUL.
Riff’s next English-Language album, IF I COULD FLY, is due out July 29.
