If you’re in Chicagoland, Boo! At the Zoo has become a tradition that families look forward to each and every year. We first took part back in 2016, and for the third consecutive year, Ferrara Candy Company has been presenting some Halloween fun at Brookfield Zoo on weekends through October. As always families are invited to enjoy the fun amidst seasonal decor, with activities including a corn maze, photo ops, trick-or-treat stations staffed by more than 400 Ferrara employees, the infamous Pumpkin Smasher, live pumpkin carving demonstrations featuring 1,000-pound pumpkins, a haunted hayride and more. There’s even opportunities to see some of the animals enjoying pumpkins as a treat – which some of them really, really love!
Ferrara has always given back, and this year they’re providing local park districts in neighboring communities with a total of 600 complimentary admission tickets to distribute to area residents. Residents of communities where Ferrara facilities are located, including Forest Park, Bellwood, Maywood, Bolingbrook, Itasca, Franklin Park, Hillside and Northlake, will receive this sweet treat.
Our family attended last weekend as guests of Ferrara, and as always a great time was had by all. If you happen to be following me on Instagram, you may have even caught some IG stories of our girls having a blast at the zoo!
The clock is ticking for 2018, so if you want to get in on the action, October 27 and 28th are your last chances to do so. For a full rundown of all the activities available, check out https://www.czs.org/boo
