BATTLE BEAST’s ‘Steelbound’ Is a Masterclass in Melodic Metal

Battlebeast 2025 | Source: Nuclear Blast Records

Okay, this one’s gonna be a very biased review — and I don’t care. I love BATTLE BEAST, and I have for over a decade now. Noora Louhimo isn’t just one of my favorite singers on Earth; she’s also one of the sweetest people I’ve ever interviewed (three times, and every one of them a blast).

The new album is Steelbound, and you should get it in your earholes immediately. It’s out via Nuclear Blast Records now, so you have no excuse.

Look, here’s the tea: this is a great f**king album. Every song is terrific, the performances are top-tier, and the band is firing on all cylinders from start to finish. Picking a favorite is damn near impossible, but if I had to choose, I’d go with “Twilight Cabaret.” That said, the entire record is a monster — no skips, no filler.

I’ve been blasting the H-E double hockey sticks out of this thing since it landed in my mailbox a month ago, and it’s not leaving rotation anytime soon. If you like melodic heavy metal with flash and balls, then this is the record for you.

STANDOUT TRACKS: All of them!
RATING: 10/10
