This Sunday, the Super Bowl or “Big Game” (for companies not paying the license fee) is taking place, and for football non-fans like myself, the most important part isn’t the game – it’s the commercials. Of course, they tend to make their way online early these days, and that’s the case with the latest offering from the folks at Kia, who’ve brought a true rock icon into the mix. Using CGI technology akin to that used to de-age Michael Douglas in ANT-MAN, the Carrie Fisher in ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY and Robert Downey Junior in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR, the Kia team worked in close collaboration with Tyler to send him back to the 70s.
Designed in Frankfurt and developed on Germany’s famed Nürburgring under the watchful eyes of two auto industry legends – Peter Schreyer, Kia Motors’ president and chief design officer, and Albert Biermann, head of Vehicle Test and High-Performance Development – the Stinger is unlike anything seen before from the brand. Recently named “Vehicle of the Year” by Roadshow by CNET and available in both rear- and all-wheel-drive, the Stinger GT, with its twin-turbo V6, pushes the sports sedan to a top speed of 167 miles per hour and from zero to 60 miles per hour in 4.7 seconds
